Hikers Find Abandoned WW2 Classified Military Base on a Canadian Mountain. Explore # 101
British Columbia, Canada
This WW2 military site was built in 1939 and decommissioned in the early 1950’s. Located on this site in an Artillery, Battery and Lookout building, Bunkers and three Gun Emplacement Buildings. They were armed with three 6" MK7 breechloading guns on mounts. After this site was decommissioned it was later used by the The Department of National Defence for military training. After they stopped using the site for training they removed the three guns. This military base is no longer in use and has been abandoned for years. It was also considered part of the Second World War Joint United States and Canadian harbour defence of the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
There has been talks over the years to sell off the land and demolished all the structures on the property.

About me:
I have been exploring abandoned places since I was a child and now I would like to film the explores and share the videos with you.
My father took me to my first abandoned house when I was 7 years old. I remember going into the house and a old farmer came in and told us "we better watch out as the floors are all rotten and unsafe". Ever since that day I was hooked on exploring abandoned places.
If you have a location you would like to share with me or want me to explore for you please send me an email at abandonedurbexcanada@hotmail.com and I will give you full credit for the share in the description and during the video if you choose.

Hello from Mönchengladbach Germany. What a very nice explore. An abandoned military object is always an adventure. A 6 inch coastal Battery is not an every day found. Sealed doors has it reasons. Many equipment or anything else could left behind (for example: Camouflage paint contains a lot of lead and other cancer provocations materials). The landscape is amazing. Many Thanks for your Work together Brent and Dame Untamed. Stay safe and God bless you.

There are installations all along the coast from WWII. There is the ruins of a base near Prince Rupert, there is a Large Bunker with equipment left over from the war near Terrace BC airport. (or was in 1999 when some schoomatesbroke in and opened a crate with a 40s generator inside of it.) There are recently decomissioned radar sites on Haidaa Gwai that has been in operation since the 40s. This was the frontline if Japan invaded.

There was a large fort on the north side under the lions gate bridge. Torn down circa 1980. Used to play in it. 2 storey thick walled structure with old gun mounts. iirc the mounts were small but the place could hold several guns. So from point grey to stanley park back out to point atkinson pretty much had Burrard Inlet covered.

We have old WW2 gun emplacements like that here in the states that have machinery down inside that lift the shells and powder up to the guns. When I was a kid you could go in and look at all that. Now it’s closed off with locked gates as well. If your really interested in old military equipment we have 4 or 5 old Battleships some different sizes here in the states you can tour.

you are the most extraordinary urban explorer Brent!!!, not only is it a beautiful place, they are the most wonderful military installations that I have ever seen in my life... I wish they could make a historical theme park with them, they deserve their conservation and to be of foot (with a little rust from humidity and time), but really worth it to preserve Canada's history. I am not Canadian, I am Mexican, but I am passionate about the history of war, especially World War II, and I would like to know more about how your country intervened. It sure looks like it is built so high that the enemy couldn't get to there by climbing. I would think that the only thing the enemy could do to try and take that place would be by air. Thank you again Brent for showing us another place that is abandoned in Canada. I always enjoy the places that you find and show us.

It was built high for both better observation and better gun trajectory/range.
