I Solo Hiked 100 Miles along the beautiful South Downs way in Autumn! It was a brilliant experience, with some pretty crazy weather! It starts in Winchester, Hampshire and ends in Eastbourne in East Sussex. It passes through West Sussex and trails a wonderful ridge line that shows off some amazing views.
On my trip I used Bed and Breakfasts throughout the way, but you can do this as a Wild Camp (if you're brave enough) and you can also book campsites along the route too. Its a long old trek but it is really beautiful and peaceful - there were days where several hours would pass and I wouldn't see anyone else at all! Sussex & Hampshire are very pretty areas and are brilliant for hiking!

Nice to see you walking through my village (Upper Beeding, West Sussex - Day 4, the Castle Inn does nice food) technically the South Downs Way runs along the outside of it near Botolph's, you pass the Steyning Bowl before descending down into the valley and cross the river on the footbridge near Shoreham Cement Works.

Thank you! I’m going to get more shots like that in the future! I really like it too 😁 The idea came from my 16 mile Shropshire film I made earlier this year - I managed to forget my tripod before heading out so had to spend the day planting my camera on rocks and the floor 😂 The alternate perspective ended up really working out and gives that whole film a gritty feeling (at least I think so) 😁 I’m glad someone noticed that ground shot in this film, I’m deffo gonna do this even more moving forward!! 🥳 I’m glad you enjoyed it, hope you subscribed!😁🤯

The reason you can’t find the end of the hike is because it ‘loops’ back around at Eastbourne, there’s two routes, it splits at Alfriston. I had the same problem but realised just in time….

I enjoyed this - I've done parts of the route and aim to do it all at some point. However I'm afraid you may have gone off route at the end - you should have gone over the seven sisters and finished at a very obvious sign at the bottom of the hill at Eastbourne. Hopefully you can come back and finish it there sometime. It's the best part of the route in my opinion (at least that I've done!) It would also be super interesting to hear what sections of the route you did on which days and where you stayed :)
