It looks so rewarding, outside of paying for a ride, the fact that it is free makes it like a better weekend plan than walking at Hollywood Blvd.

Had family over and they did all the Hollywood Blvd stuff. They wanted to see the Hollywood sign up close so I took them to the Innsdale trail. They where happy to just be in front of it and take pictures I didn't tell them and we kept walking not telling them where we were going. Well before you knew it we were behind the Hollywood Sign. They still talk about it to this day. LA's Natural Beauty far surpasses any tourist attractions.

Griffith park is so great! I used to work in Burbank and would go to Griffith park after work fairly often. Lots of fantastic trails to choose from. Fall, winter and early spring are the best times to go. And such great views. On a clear day you can see all the way to the ocean.

Wow. I've been all the places you went on this hike but not all in one shot! Incredible hike. An easier traverse of Griffith Park that I've done is starting from Travel Town and ending up down in Los Feliz in the neighborhood near Griffith Park Drive.

What a fantastic trek! The flowers are awesome! I have been loving the trails this spring with so many flowers 😊 Im happy that Jared knows the name of that plant, I found a couple on a trail this last week and had no idea what it was, I thought it looked like an artichoke plant 😄 The Cobweb Thistle! Great video Josh 😀

The bridge is called the hog back trail bridge. But sometimes the locals call it the haunted bridge because of some super natural stories about hikers experienced on the bridge.

We did this hike today! It was amazing! We eneded up doing 8.53 miles and it took us just about 4 hrs and 24 minutes! Thank you for your recommendation!!! We did all of the 11 peaks you described! We also mapped everything out on the park map and also used google maps and all trails to get through everything! We also used treking poles which were super useful! It was awesome to see the different views change as we moved across the trails.

That’s a great hike. One of my bucket list things is to see the super bloom this year with the record rainfall. I’m going on Monday to the corrizo plain. It’s a tad late but I had some storm damage to my house to get addressed first. They are starting the major work Monday so I’m getting myself and kitty out of the house. Been packing up several rooms into a POD so they can replace some wall and floor damage. I want to do a trip to Joshua tree before it gets too hot as well. But Monday I’m going to do a loop taking I-5 to corrizo plain then taking the 101 home. From Ventura it’s about the same time and distance going either way so why not do a loop. Did you guys do a super bloom trip this year with the kids and Amy? As always enjoying your posts

Oh yeah, I've been there 16:38, that is more like a dry waterfall. You literally have to be on your hands and knees to do that. You guys missed a neat little spot 17:32, called Cedar Grove, which is a tiny wooded area just 0.4 mi along the asphalt road. A small area with tall trees that look like you are in the Sierra's or something. A popular movie shooting spot for forrest scenes.

@@californiathroughmylens Also, Beacon Hill the last peak that you hiked has a really scenic south face towards the 5frwy and LA downtown skyline. You guys should have continued down that peak, and it leads down to the cadman trail head and crystal springs drive, to the little pony ride parking area. I've driven by Griffith park over a thousand times for various work locations, but I always remember seeing a narrow white line that shoots straight up that peak. The first peak when you see the massive park. One day I would find the time to hike that trail. I would think, as I drove by each time. I finally did that just a few years ago. A moderately steep challenging hike that takes about 20 minutes. It must have been an old service trail, because you start seeing old metal pipes.

I think thats the first time you havent introduced a hiking friend Josh... hi Jarrod. Maybe you should also warn (even though they should think of it themselves) people to walk with a buddy its pretty isolated despite the other people. Great to see a bit of Oz there with the Golden Wattle and the poppies were gorgeous. Amazing views despite the Smog? Fog? Haze? BTW do you get many poisonous snakes there Josh..I know you dont usually respond but maybe someone else can tell me please? cheers from West Oz

For hiking with brush getting so close to the feet, are you worried about not seeing rattlesnakes? Any tips to hike with overgrown brush and flowers making it harder to see any snakes hiding, since it's getting warmer? I tried a different hike and the single track was so overgrown that I ended up turning around rather than risk a hidden snake (have heard one start rattling off trail in the underbrush before)
