I hiked the same chimney rock but in a fraction of the time. I also got much closer to the edge. Also I did it barefoot.

Awesome! Have been to Chimney Tops but not Chimney Rock. Thanks for sharing your adventure. My favorite place to hike and camp is to Tray Mountain on the Appalachian Trail! Just subbed

Planning on taking on this hike towards the end of this month! How long did the whole hike take approximately?

From chimney Rock to hickory nut falls was about a 3 hour round trip hike. At the park there are several other trails to explore, so you could spend all day there if you wish

Does the state allow you to hike to the fall or did you have to go off trail?

@@TridentLion did you see the old skyline trail along the cliffs and was it accessible at all? My husband and I took that before it was closed down fifteen years ago. When I was back this year, it was closed off.
