*Suilven (Scottish Gaelic: Sùilebheinn - pronounced Sool-ven) is one of the most distinctive mountains in Scotland.
Suilven forms a steep-sided ridge some 2 km in length. The highest point, known as Caisteal Liath (the Grey Castle in Scottish Gaelic), lies at the northwest end of this ridge.
English translation: Pillar mountain
Elevation: 731 m (2,398 ft)
Pronunciation: Scottish Gaelic
Language of name: Old Norse + Scottish Gaelic

It was fantastic to get out in Scotland - I'd never been before - so this was a great way to get back out hiking and see more gorgeous places in the UK!

Hi - yes we went up and down the same route - but you can also approach it from the other side - that is more challenging I believe.

Nice video! I am looking forward to doing Suilven myself soon. A couple of questions: -Were you guys on a trail from the bothy to the base of the mountain? -How many people is there room for in the bothy for an overnight stay?

Yes there is a nice trail from the bothy to the mountain - the bothy has got 2 rooms the smaller room could probably sleep about 5 and the larger room about 8 - maybe a few more.. have an amazing time!! Enjoy!!
