A fantastic hike from Malga Ciapela into the lonely mountain world of the south side of the Marmolada at the Cime dell'Auta. And in the middle, in a basin, the small mountain lake Lago dei Negher (or Lago di Franzei or Lech dei Giai). A great hike with some challenging parts but incredibly fantastic views.
The Marmolada (or German Marmolada) is the highest mountain in the Dolomites and part of the Marmolada group in Trentino-South Tyrol. The highest point on the ridge is Punta Penia at 3343 meters. The Marmolada is framed by the three valleys of Val Pettorina in the province of Belluno, Val di Fassa and Val di San Pellegrino in the south.
