Almost a year ago on his podcast, I remember when Kraig was talking about going into the 'hiking film genre' on KZfaq because it wasn't too popular. Fast forward to now, and he's dominating the entire genre all the while evolving it into something more. I am really looking forward to more of these. Best of luck on your future hikes!

Congratulations, Mr. Adams, upon making this epic trip. A job well done! My son, Patrick, completed a similar rim to rim trip several years ago. He made the hike in early May to avoid the summer heat. He is an amateur photographer. He took dried fruit, a water bladder, salted nuts, crackers. We are from San Diego, Ca. He prepared every day for several months by climbing a local mountain/hill here named Cowles Mountain. My wife and I dropped him off at 2 AM at the South Kaibab trailhead. He stayed at Phantom Ranch to rest for a couple of hours. Then he continued on until reaching the North Rim at the North Kaibab trailhead at around 5:30 PM. Although, it was not recommended, he felt he had prepared enough to make the trip in one day. He made it in a little over 15 hours. His mom and I were so proud of him...and still are! I told him then that later in his life he can look back with a smile at what he accomplished

Crossed the Canyon in the mid-70's, in one day, on a bet that I could get across the canyon with four friends faster than the other half of our group could get around the canyon. We won, but were instantly findable next morning: when we stretched, our legs cramped, and we yelled. Glad to see that they have improved the trail.

Kraig, you have "MAD" videography and editing skills. You have professional sensibilities and abilities. You really should do some type of hookup with Nat Geo or Discovery Channel or one of the new streaming services to sponsor you and take you to the next level. You are that accomplished. Back in college, Tanner Canyon connecting into the Beamer and Escalante was always my favorite trail in the Grand Canyon to hike -- puts in over near Lipan Lookout, and I've spent full weeks in the inner gorge only seeing rafters come by; no other hikers. No water rim to river; but glorious experiences all along the trail.

I've been loving all your explorations and ways of incorporating your artistic vision as well as subtly adding in sponsorships. If you're at all worried about the sponsorship feeling weird or out of place with your artistic vision, I don't think so. I love seeing that other companies enjoy and support your work. As for the format--- this one by far is my favourite. I love the cinematic and the explorations of your journey, and I also enjoy hearing your behind-the-scene thoughts, Q&As, and how you came about to this video.

Really interesting video Kraig. Your shooting gives the viewer an 'authentic' feel for the Grand Canyon: the whistling of the wind; the 'crunch' of the dust underfoot; the incessant rhythm of footsteps... And then the awesome visuals which give a sense of scale; what are we in the face of such immensity and grandeur? This is the impression your video gave me and, although I've never been myself, the one which many people I think take from visiting the Grand Canyon. Thanks

I will never forget the year I was using the Greyhound Ameripass ticket to travel from New York to Los Angeles, also alone. And the Grand Canyon Village was to be one of my stops to spend the day there. So I arrived at Flagstaff Greyhound terminal at 4.00 am. After waiting for four hours, around 8.00 am I boarded another bus to Grand Canyon Village. Once there, I discovered the trailhead of Bright Angel Trail at the village (next to Kolb Studio). When I saw other hikers entering and exiting the trail, I went to nearby Bright Angel Lodge and found out about Phantom Ranch, right at the bottom, and I was offered a bed down there due to a cancellation made within the last hour. So I had to hire a rucksack and a pair of hiking boots, and I bought some food and started hiking down the trail. I arrived at nightfall to claim my bed for the night. Next morning, starting at daybreak, I made my way back to the rim, using the same trail, as back then I knew nothing about the South Kaibab Trail. Duration of descent: 4.5 hours. Duration of ascent 9 hours. Distance covered 19.2 miles Month/year of the hike: August 1978.

Man, I did this, it was great. Can't remember which trail (was 25 years ago), but I went from South to North and back again. Down in the valley, it was sunny and warm enough to shower naked under some waterfall (it was late in the year, October/November or the like, and almost no other hikers around (at least I didn't see any - I mean down there in the valley itself; there was quite a lot who hiked down the South Rim and back up again), and then hiking up the North Rim and there was snow. Then going back down again, and it was again like mild summer. Awesome. And breathtaking scenery.
