Really means a lot that you comment on every one of our videos Angelica ❤️🙏 We would have been so sad if we didn't see a Kiwi on Stewart Island! Thankfully we got to see one, even if it did mean a rough nights sleep haha 😄 The Weka were very cool as well, I had never seen them before either Thanks again for watching and the continued support Angelica, it really does mean so much to us 😊

Stunning intro shots just as the whole hike, so beautifully filmed and put together. Really relaxing and calming but at the same time exciting to follow you on the trail. Great work, and very inspiring, as I would love to shoot some hikes in NZ too. You got a new fan ;) Have a wonderful weekend and take care out there. Best wishes, Mario

Your videos are the reminder for me that documenting your journey of going on beautiful hike, makes the journey 10000x more memorable, since you basically created a very beautiful memory aid! Really admire the effort to document your hike (lots of scenes where the camera shot from far upfront / behind while you both are walking), and at the same time the whole the video felt so effortless like you could somehow project the calmness and relaxing vibe from the surrounding nature you felt back there. Have a safe and fun trips Danya and Chris, from your fan in Indonesia :)

Thank you so much Shafiera 🙏❤️ 100% agree everyone should document their adventures in some way. Even if they don't intend to do anything with them; just having something to look back on is so rewarding We love doing what we do and Danya has incredible patience with me 😅

We've done a short food video before, but what we take has changed a bit since moving to NZ and not having access to a dehydrator. That video is here - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/erVyn7l-r9yxiH0.html. Probably need to do an updated one though! Regarding a gear video, this is something we've been wanting to do for quite a while, we just can't decide how we want to do it. We want to get a scale so we can weigh all our gear and give the weight when we talk about it. This is definitely something we'll do, just not sure when 🙈

Hi again wow a great presentation this is Kathy thank u for replying re my comments about the Routebourne track . Stewart island /Ruakuria is again one of my go tos . It is like stepping back in time I did the Ulva island walk (only a day trip) fromOban lovely walk which is teeming with bird life. At the time (12 years ago) we had a meal at the pub which was first on your video and met an English Journalist from Living Planet who was spending his 2nd time in New Zealand I asked him what his favourite place was and he said Kaikoura. Worth a mention if you are still in New Zealand. Trust you have been well looked after whilst staying here as a now 74 year old have extended friendliness to tourists and have many friends from around the world. Thinking back it is in my genes my father bringing many Americans home when they were first establishing a base here to service Antartica in Christchurch /Otautahi (This would have been in the 1950,s) Take care you two

We really enjoyed our time on Stewart Island. We visited Ulva island as well and the bird life was fantastic! We wish we had more time to explore the island We stayed at the Pub for New Years and had a great time. The food was fantastic; I had the best Blue Cod I've ever tasted haha Love hearing your stories Kathy. We'll look into Kaikoura!

Really enjoying your films.They really show the dramatic mountains and lovely forests. Some of your filming must be a challenge because of the added difficulty of the weather. At present Im watching a couple a day . They bring back great memories. How do you decide which ones to film? Have you ever had to give it away due to the weather? Many thanks!
@ChrisandDanya
@ChrisandDanya 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the continued support David, it really means a lot 🙏❤️ Weather can sometimes make filming difficult, mainly with lenses fogging up, etc. If it's raining, I usually just succumb my gear to the elements In terms of deciding which to film, it's pretty easy... We just film everything! 😅 Never had to abandon a hike because of weather; fingers crossed it doesn't happen!

Great video! I believe with this one I almost watch all your videos of New Zealand! We just book the Routeburn Track Great Walk! Hoping we get nice weather. By the way I notice from your first videos to the last ones the picture quality was enhanced a lot! How you made it?. How many batteries you take to the trips? Or you bring a charging station? Sorry for all the questions 😅 but great videos guys hope you guys keep doing more videos they are very inspiring!!
@ChrisandDanya
@ChrisandDanya 2 жыл бұрын
Wow, we can't believe you've watched all of our NZ videos! That honestly means so much, thank you 🙏🙏🙏 You'll have a wonderful time on the Routeburn! Even if the weather isn't great, as long as it's decent on the 2nd day, you'll have a blast. We managed to book the three Great Walks on the West Coast, really looking forward to those. I'm surprised you've noticed an increase in quality! I'm using the same camera in all of these videos, but admittedly, have been working on nailing focus a lot more, as I realized I was out of focus in a lot of my shots. I''ve been using a broken lens for over a year now, which sometimes puts half the image out of focus. I was stubborn and told myself I could fix it, but I've since bought a new lens. I still have so many videos shot with that broken lens that I still need to edit though 😅 I always carry three batteries for my main camera and 2 batteries for the GoPro. I then carry a 20k mAh power bank for recharging them on multi-day hikes; that's usually good to last me on a 4-5 day hike. Danya also carries a 20k mAh power bank to charge our phonea and as backup. I generally do short shots and always turn the camera off after every shot; I've also started to be more selective in my filming to save battery life + HDD space on my computer. Don't apologize for the questions, we're more than happy to answer any questions you have, that's what we here for! We definitely won't stop making videos and have so many already recorded and many more planned for the future Thank you for the continued support ❤️🙏

@@ChrisandDanya thanks so much for the reply on my comment really appreciated! I will be recording with a R6 with a new lens I got pretty cheap a 16mm 2.8f from canon let’s see if we can upload some videos in the channel. Thanks for the info in regards the batteries as well I just order a tripod from peak design due the one I have is huge and heavy and is challenging to put it on the back packs. Every walk for us is lesson learn due the challenges you get with the randomness in the weather. At the moment we are using a plastic trash bag to cover the camera but I notice in one of your videos that you have a like a sort of shower cap os something like that how that works? Do you struggle with the rain when you are recording. My lenses are not weather seal so I avoid recording in wet conditions. (The weather seal lenses are so expensive in nz). Cheers guys for your videos!
@ChrisandDanya
@ChrisandDanya 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Organic Studio, apologies for the delayed response! I didn't get notified about your reply to my comment for some reason 🤔 The R6 is a great camera! That lens sounds like a great combo We do use a shower cap to cover the camera if it's raining, but all our camera gear except for the ultrawide is weather sealed, so we're willing to expose it to the elements more. If it's raining really hard, we'll just store it in the bag and use the GoPro for shots. I think all camera gear in NZ is very expensive! 😅 The Peak Design is a fantastic tripod, so easy to use! It can still be a bit heavy, but is quite slim and easy to get in and out of a bag. We used to use a mini tripod exclusively, but found all the shots look the same. It's nice to be able to have a tripod at human height and be able to see more Have a fantastic trip!

Thanks for the kind words! ❤️🙏 We were fortunate enough to hike the Milford Track in April! We've recorded the video, but we purchased a new camera for that hike and our current computer isn't good enough to edit the footage 😅 We're picking up a new computer this week though, so will hopefully have that video edited in a few weeks. It's going to be a long one!

The Milford Track is pretty stunning, we can definitely see why some refer to it as "the finest walk in the world". Really enjoyed the Routeburn for the combination of ease, simplicity and the fantastic views you get. I'd personally do the Earnslaw Burn again in summer, just to see all the waterfalls running off the glacier. Tbe forest section was definitely tough though. We're heading up the West Coast after winter for 1.5 months, then onto Nelson, so our answer may change after that!
