A steep hike through Braunwald, dinner by a glacier, and a scenic ascent up one of Switzerland's most striking mountain passes: Klausenpass.
This summer I start my great adventure across Switzerland: hiking the Via Alpina green trail. The fourth and fifth stages of the Via Alpina hike go from Linthal to Urnerboden before climbing Klausenpass and ending in Altdorf, in canton Uri. I also make a detour to enjoy the glacial lake, Im Griesse, Switzerland's youngest lake.
As this year's Via Alpina explorer, I will hike 260km across Switzerland from Sargans to Kandersteg, climbing 15,000m over 9 alpine passes. Over the next three months, I will hike every other weekend, building to an eight-day hike in August. It will be full of wild camping, Swiss culture, and physical challenges.
