Decided the night before to take a trip to the Welch Dickey Loop. The hike covers Welch Mountain and Dickey Mountain and is relatively easy. The loop is a fairly quick drive from the Boston area (about 2 hours, no traffic) and a fairly quick hike. I spent a total of 4 hours on trail (much of which was spent sitting admiring views) and you get your first views about 20-30 minutes into the hike which is excellent.
Would highly recommend!

Full disclosure - The links in this description are more than likely affiliate links. This means if you click on one of these links and make a purchase I make a commission from that sale. As much as I love money, I would highly suggest giving yourself at least 48 hours before any purchase decision and asking yourself “Do I really need this?”. I hope more times than not, you find yourself saying “I Definitely do NOT need this”. If you find yourself still in need, shop around and find the best deal for your money.
Please note that I am not recommending any of the gear seen in any of my videos. The gear I use is what I have found works best for me at the time period I am using it. I have come to these gear choices through vast levels of trial, error, and experimenting with gear out on trail.
Gear, clothing, footwear, etc. are not one style works for all. Do as much research as you can, try out things in person if able, and make the best informed purchase decision for YOU. Do not buy gear just because it worked for, was showcased by, or recommended by someone on KZfaq

Hey, Chris. I'm going to hike Welsh-Dickey today, so it was good to watch this. Do you still live just south of Boston? So do I. I'd love to hike with you sometime!

nice hike, for me it would be a 6 or more hour drive from the northern tip of maine lol. in 2 weeks ill be down doing a modified speckled mountain loop with blueberry mtn, spruce hill and east royce. if the energy is there we may extend it, looking at 14 miles. hopefully all goes well and i convince my hiking companion to do the pemi loop and grafton loop this season. you would think being in northern maine there would be lots of hiking trails but there are not many longer hikes till you get quite a bit south.

Thanks man, it certainly was a cool hike! I have heard good things about that area specifically Blueberry Mountain, certainly rough with that long of travel time, but you do have Baxter State Park up your way, I really enjoyed Katahdin! I am planning on the Pemi loop myself hopefully this July. I did Lafayette and that ridge last summer but we were in heavy clouds on Lafayette, hopefully better weather this time around

What are did you park at? I am an hour away from Boston and last time I went to the White Mountains it was over 3 hours so I like to know what area did you go to? Keep up the vids!

There is a pretty sizable parking lot at this trail head. If you google welch dickey trailhead nh it should pop right up in google maps. This area is about a 2 - 2.5 hourish ride from Boston assuming no traffic
