Hello and welcome - or welcome back!
I wonder, where do you go when you want some down time and head space? I usually head for a hike on the Cornish coast and this video shows one of my favourite places: the cliffs around St Agnes.
Join me for quick catch up from May, with a few questions for you too - I need some help to make a decision on which video to finish next! (Procrastinating for England here atm!).
I hope you enjoy the gorgeous scenery (and me rambling on), but I apologise for the sound quality which it's a bit dodgy/windy in places. Get a mic you say! That's the plan - but as an incentive to post regularly I've promised myself a new one when I reach 500 subs.
It feels like a massive goal, but you can help me get there if you subscribe to the channel! (A big thank you if you're one of the awesome people that's helped me get to my first 100.) Don't forget to give the video a like too, and come and say hi in the comments - let me know your fave place for head space!
I'll be back for another hiking vlog next week, until then have a great weekend and happy hiking :)
Stephie x

Are you new here? Yes? Then hello and welcome to my hiking channel!
I'm Stephie and I'm new here too. I share vlogs and hiking videos to inspire you and help you get outside and enjoy the UK on foot. I usually hike solo, including backpacking and wild camping, and I'm based in Cornwall in the far south west of the UK. When I'm not off exploring the UK with my home on my back I'm usually on the cliffs somewhere in Cornwall.
I'd love to get to know you so please subscribe and hit the notifications bell so you don't miss the next video. Thanks for being here, I really appreciate it :)
Take care and see you next time.
Stephie x

Aww, thank you ! I do like the idea of finishing up the Tamara Way series (and it seems like the consensus so far), it feels like a bit of a practice run for my next hike which is the Pembrokeshire Coast Path in a few weeks time - I'm a bit excited! The Tamara Way series will be 5 videos and I'm planning to post the 3rd one tomorrow...if I can do it quickly enough 😁(It's not for want of trying 🤣🤣). Have a great weekend and I hope to 'see' you soon!

would like to see the Tamara Way series finished as it's good to know how it ended. As for other ideas, as someone who lives 100's of miles away from such lovely countryside it would be great to see your thoughts/advice on day/weekend hike trips starting from near a train station. And for hiking goals - I measure mine in smiles rather than miles 😀

Thank you so much for 'voting', that's brilliant. I don't know if you know, but I also write a blog where I share guides to planning hikes that includes things like travel (public transport), how much it cost, how easy it is to wild camp, etc. www.10milehike.com/ I'm part way through the one on the Tamara Way, but hopefully it'll be done soon and I'll put a link in the video descriptions when it is. And you're right, hiking goals should be measured in smiles! I decided on a goal of 2,000 miles for this year though in memory of a friend who died last year - she walked 2,000 miles in the year after a diagnosis of terminal cancer. She was the only friend I ever walked long distances with, and so inspiring! And here's me - can't get my arse in gear at all 🤣

Definitely finish both walk videos! I imagine the Offa's Dyke videos will get more views because more people have heard of it, want to walk it and see what it's like. But the Tamara Way walk is a good one for locals and visitors too of course. Offa's Dyke first I reckon though! I'm a big fan of chatty 'catch up' videos, so like the idea of a regular catch up, along with the hiking videos of course! Favourite place to clear my head? On the beach at West Portholland with my Mini Trangia stove and some coffee. I know you've set yourself a target, and why too, but quality over quantity wins for me - so I'd say don't fret about the miles too much, just enjoy your hikes without feeling any pressure and just go with the flow! 👍😀

Thanks so much Mick, I think you're 100% right! The consensus seems to be the Tamar Way first though (so far), so I'll do that and try and finish up the ODP alongside it so it's ready to go asap. I'm glad you like the 'chatty' vlogs too - I follow one or two other KZfaqrs who have vlog-style videos and I love to hear their thoughts, as well as seeing their more 'polished' videos. I do wonder what on earth I'm going on about though when I get home and look at the clips 😂 I hope you're out and about this weekend - good weather for a ride.

@@stephie_10milehike The Tamara Way it is then - It's all good whichever way it comes! 😀 Yes, I've subbed to several KZfaqrs who do or did, the chatty type, and I always enjoy them. There's always plenty going on that someone either forgets to mention, or show, in a video, or isn't worth making a video of its own. Don't worry about your style or what you say or anything like that, just be you, be natural, I always say that to people - it's just being normal! Not out today, but hoping to ride to the Poppy fields first thing tomorrow over at West Pentire - always worth seeing they are. It depends on how my Hayfever is though! 🤧 Hope you're getting out and about too! 👍 Take care, have fun!

I'm enjoying your Tamara Way postings, the "trials and tribulations" along the way are good signposts for anyone thinking of doing the walk, for instance, having to catch a train (???), catch the tides etc. So personally, I'd like you to finish that series first. 👍

Oh that's brilliant, thank you so much for letting me know! It seems like such a simple decision to make but it makes sense to finish the Tamara Way series first. I started questioning it because the Offa's Dyke (part 1) video has 600+ views and the Tamara Way ones barely 50 so far! I guess all sorts of factors come into play, but it'll be satisfying to have a completed series of a more recent hike. Episode 3 should be published on Sunday, all being well - it's well under way, but I need to get quicker! Thank you so much again, I really do appreciate. I hope you have a lovely weekend - have you got anything fun planned? (I'm planning on putting some hiking miles in!)

I've got work in the garden, but I suspect I'll go out early Sunday morning for a walk beforehand, about 6.45, then after a coffee, get to work in the garden

Love your videos and chats. Would love to see more off your tamara way video 😊 i think it is becoming more well known hike as i met people from all over the country on the path while walking it who said they had seen it on country file on t.v apparently. Xx

@@eldred1809 That sounds like heaven! My son's just finished his first year at uni (he lives at home) and now he's gone away for a week, so I'm relaxing and pottering around the garden too 😊I'm not sure I can get up and out at that time of morning though - I wish I could and I'm going to try this week, but I didn't have much success this morning! I hope you have a lovely walk tomorrow - fingers crossed for a bit of sunshine!

@@barbarannjessep9363 Thank you so much for letting me know - it seems to be the consensus! I have part 3 almost done and hope to post it tomorrow, then there are 2 more to come. I didn't know the Way had been on tv - I hope people aren't disappointed if they've come from far afield 🫤 Luckily we're not all the same and some people might love it. I can't imagine who though - but I'd recommend the Tamar Valley Discovery Trail, that bit was beautiful! Thank you so much for following along, it really does make my day! Have a lovely weekend, and hopefully some time outside too! xx
