I'm a white woman who lived in España with an incredible viuda (widow) who was incredible. I was in an area of Spain where English is, rarely spoken. I studied Spanish for 12 years and have a BA in Spanish. I would NEVER claim to be Spanish. First of all, most people in Spain are still racially considered to be White. Speaking Spanish doesn't dictate your ethnicity or your race. Second, the people in Spain who are most marginalized, ethnically, are gitanos (in America we use the term "gypsy" but it's an offensive term in English.) I never met anyone in Spain who falsely presented themselves as racially marginalized. This woman disrespects a culture that I'm so privileged to know. I grew up middle class and then went into poverty. I've also lived in Cambridge and I know exactly the type of woman Hilaire Baldwin is. She's the epitome of a Karen. She's racist and ethnocentric. I hope Spain cancels her. I expect they already have. They can't stand dumb Americans like this. It's an incredible country. I have 4 children. We are a military family. 20 years. The only way we would tell our children something so difficult, it’s because it is better that they hear….the truth…from us, than later hearing it in school, or in the news, the lies, the extra juicy past story line that comes to add more insult to injury. It is better to talk to your child. To reassure them what the truth is. And to listen to them, and nurture them through the aftermath.

On the weapons ranges, during the field exercises, and in the red zones each soldier was responsible for the safety of his own personal weapon and everyone watches and teaches everyone else to make sure safety is upheld. I spent 23 years in the Army, five of which were deployed to Iraq where we literally slept with fully locked and loaded M16s and 9mils and no one got shot in any kind of an accident like what happened on Alec's set. Most people are such unfit parents that if we could grow brains in jars to adulthood we would get better results.
