Good point but I can easily picture an annoyed barber removing the phone temporarily from the ear to do the cut, then saying "don't worry - no extra charge". It works either way, but it shows you were paying attention.

In Southern Oregon in the 1970s someone had put up a sign along Interstate 5. Just across the border from California that read "Welcome to Oregon, open 9 to 5 daily, a nice place to visit, don't plan to stay." I can't remember how long it was up before the highway department took it down.

Okay this was great stuff, I loved the 10 Bosses & 1 Worker, the "now Leaving CA. Welcome to America", the Laziness sign, save 100% sign, the Attorney sign, the Elevator, & the Speed Limit Sniper sign. My #1 Vote goes to the "Now Leaving California, Welcome to America" sign and runner up is the 10 Bosses 1 Worker ahead. Some of these pics were "staged", so they didn't even qualify.

Guantanamo Bay Naval base. There is one traffic light in the town, and beneath it hangs a sign that says "This is a traffic light" (There are a lot of people there from third world countries...people coming there from the USA are amused.)

Opposite to this is a roundabout (traffic circle) in south London which has a sculpture made of a large number of UK-style traffic lights flashing in random sequences. Although painted green to try to distinguish them from authoritative signals controlling traffic, they've still had to erect signs informing drivers that those lights should be ignored. 🚥🚫🚗 The thing I don't get - And as a Brit this seems reasonable to me - Is; If you're going to build a sculpture like _that_ at a busy road junction, surely using an obviously foreign design of light (i.e: American or Korean) would have made more sense? 😇

5:28 "No stopping on highway to view eclipse". So they want people to view the eclipse while they are driving? Sounds kind of dangerous. Talk about distracted driving. And the one at 8:06 ("Ring bell for service") reminds me of a local seamstress I visited some time ago to get some jeans hemmed. She was in the back of the shop so i couldn't see her and she didn't know I was at the counter waiting for service. Finally after several minutes she comes out from the back and takes a bell out from under the counter, placing it on the counter for people to ring for service. I asked her why the bell wasn't already on the counter and she replied she was afraid people would steal it. Umm, then why have the bell in the first place? If it's not visible to customers when you're out back they can't use it. And when you are at your counter and the bell is visible customers don't need it.

OMG! As a native Southern Californian, I agree with the signage welcoming the former Commucratically Enslaved Peoples of Commufornia to America!!! That's how it felt when we departed the very tarnished and far and away over-taxed "Golden State".
