We finally get round to one of the most impressive Hillclimb events of the Year, Rechbergrennen, the Austrian round of the European HillClimb Championship (1st one this Season too). With an absolutely tremendous entry list featuring some of the most proeminent Monsters in Europe, here we have plenty of Lancer Evo, Impreza, Porsche in various guises, Skoda units and more battling for a Top Spot that will always be quite hard to attain, given the Local Specialist goes by the name of Karl Schagerl...And this year we also had a very special debut, altough just being shown only on the paddock, not racing yet. Still we have a spot for it on the video.

I wonder how they're going to do the exhaust, with 4 engines. I don't see any sidepipes, so, do they channel them all to the rear? Cause that would result in different exhaust lengths, which would create its own issues. Edit: and also how they're doing the airflow to each engine.

I did the paddleshift setup and refined the shiftcut strategy a bit... you are right, there has been done some work to make it smooth and seamless, though there is always room to get even better :-)

Nothing beats a Judd engine in these cars. Also, first car under 2 minutes had the bulletproof Mezger engine, love those engines.

Monika had some issues but at the end she is still getting used to the Impreza and all its power. Had the car been driven by her father like it normally is, it would have placed possibly in the Top 5 we think...

Thank you so much again for your work. The presentation is perfect. Spoilers: What happened to the SLK340? I'm happy to see it back, but usually it'd be on top of the leaderboard, 5+ s faster than 2nd place :) Though I'm also happy for Schagerl.. that is such a cool car.

Thanks for the Support! Reto had clutch and starter engine issues during all weekend, making him only being able to do a single Race Run. In normal conditions he´d be in quite direct competition with Karl..

Holy smokes! A 1.0L inline 4 making 850hp in a chassis weighing 1000kg is ABSURD!!! I CANNOT WAIT to see what that thing can do. I’m genuinely surprised anyone attempted to get that much power out of such a small motor. Combined with the weight and aero, that thing is going to be FAST!

you should go back and look again, it is not 1 engine, it is 4, one for each wheel. so its 850hp combined.

One engine per wheel, exactly, and we state there what kind of engine it its. The HP4 engine that of course comes from the BMW HP4 motorbike ;)

Great event! But that idiot on the grounds pa system wouldn't be quiet for a second!! You weren't even able to enjoy the sounds of the spectacular racing action because all you could hear was that guys voice. Anywhere! You just couldn't get a break.I had to quit watching, I appreciate relevant information, but not endless jibber jabber.
