this is not a fair comparison .as you know the nf 25 is a well respected mountain tent for mainly base camping used alot in everest .the hille is a bit of an all rounder still a good tent. but there uses are diffirent .also the nf25 would be alot stronger and stable in extreme weathers .because thats what its design to do .its not really a put in your rucksack kind of tent . yes i would agree the hille is alot roamier and easier to put up. but as we all know fully geo tents have more stability that tunnel design .try putting these tents up everest basecamp in a major snow storm and lets see which is best ..their are both good tents but they are so diffferent in uses atb kev

Agree Kev. However the Achillies heel of the N.F. is the inner tent pitch 1st. The Hilleburg Tarra eliminates that problem. I have just posted a review of The Mobi Garden 2 plus 4 season Expedition /Alpine tent on my channel. Basically a N.F. 25 Clone 133USD From Aliexpress. Weighs 4.2 kg in the standard packaging..

Thanks for having a channel that actually addresses the questions that should be answered about outdoor gear.

And to secure your tent to a safe cord. A safe should be connected to your pack At all times. So when set your tent it doesn’t blow away in 50 miles hour wind. No tent no cozyness.

Michael Sargeant all I need to say is congratulations you have bought the best model known to man. Yes I have one and I haven’t done a review yet. That tent can handle the harshness of any climate. It’s not a trekking tent as it’s to heavy but it’s really strong. Great purchase and thanks for ur feedback

My Hilleberg Stieka was made in Estonia just as Hilleberg said.

Really? Are you sure? No Hilleberg tents are made in any Asian counties. All tents are made in either Rapla, Estonia. Or in Europe somewhere

@@JustAnotherReviewwithAlek Mine clearly says "made in Korea" I was shocked and disappointed when I noticed it. I emailed Hilleberg about it last night; let's see what they have to say.

@@jla3772 if that’s the case, I wouldn’t be buying another Hilleberg. I’ve check the 3 models I currently have and it’s all made in Europe, also check on the labels if you have the persons name who made the tent. What model did you get? Just an fyi: I asked a mate who sell tents here in Australia and he said they are made in two countries in Europe. But he will check with Hilleberg today. I will let you know also what I hear. If that’s the case, it would be made under Hilleberg supervision and inspected. They have a big name in the tent community. I will keep you posted

@@jla3772 what I have found out so far. The big blue label tents are made in the DAC factory in Vietnam.

@@JustAnotherReviewwithAlek Hey, I was mistaken; I have a Staika, and Tara black label and they are both made in Estonia just as Hilleberg said. It was a paper tag that was attached to the tent bag that said "made in S. Korea." but when I located the tag on the tent it said "made in Estonia" and had the name of the person who made it. I need to find and delete that comment. Thanks a lot for investigating.

Obviously the north face is smaller if its a 2 man tent. Also you said that it needed 8 guy lines, it has 8 guy lines but it is a free standing tent, where as the hilleberg needs its guy lines and can not be set up anywhere. MJ said that all you have to do to remove the snow off the hilleberg is just wipe it with your hand, thats all well and good until you are in the middle of a snow storm, if you have ever been in a storm you will know its not that simple. You might want to take the time to go out in "extreme" circumstances before you do your reviews.

I'll say this first. She took her gloves off to get into the North Face M25. She never removed them for the Hilleberg. I don't care how calm the environment it is pitched in if she or anyone has to remove a glove in a calm environment, it will probably react the same way when having to pitch it in harsh winds, driving rain, snow, or ice. An ungloved hand at -10 F wind chill is going to be serious trouble. She, a smaller person, had trouble getting into the main vestibule to get into the main tent then nearly fell getting out. Something is designed wrong because it appeared both tents were pitched properly as I have seen other places and the maker's websites. In the grand scheme of things, it comes down to survival and what you are willing to risk which might be priceless. So the price should not be considered an expense but a comfort, most times. Just IMHO.

@@fresonandrew675 I was going to say the same, but even still a simple zipper pull tab modifications would solve said problem. I own a North Face VE-25 similar to the one being reviewed and it doesn't take me 25mins to set up. I suppose if some rich snob hired a Sherpa guide to carry it up a mountain for them and demanded a quick set up the Hilleberg would be the talk amongst the crowd being so lavishly expensive that is until you wake up during a snow storm/blizzard taking turns to go outside to dust the snow off your collapsing tent. The North Face is structurally sound compared to a tube tent hands down. I totally support buying products that promote your own country if you choose to, however I strongly suggest getting something more structurally sound.
