Definition of being "active", by body speech or mind, and practical application of discernment of your own craving in regard to the feeling that endures presently. Freedom from "contact" and freedom from suffering.

3rd time watching this, every time I understand so much more. At first what you say was dense and confusing, but now it is profound.. extremely helpful for grasping real buddhism, there is nothing else like these videos anywhere. Thank you so much for these teachings !!

"The proletariat demands the obsession of work in order to keep from going crazy. I used to wonder how people could stand the really demonic activity of working behind those hellish ranges in hotel kitchens, the frantic whirl of waiting on a dozen tables at one time, the madness of the travel agent’s office at the height of the tourist season, or the torture of working with a jack-hammer all day on a hot summer street. The answer is so simple that it eludes us: the craziness of these activities is exactly that of the human condition. They are 'right' for us because the alternative is natural desperation. The daily madness of these jobs is a repeated vaccination against the madness of the asylum. Look at the joy and eagerness with which workers return from vacation to their compulsive routines. They plunge into their work with equanimity and lightheartedness because it drowns out something more ominous. When the awareness dawns that has always been blotted out by frenetic, ready-made activity, we see the transmutation of repression redistilled, so to speak, and the fear of death emerges in pure essence. This is why people have psychotic breaks when repression no longer works, when the forward momentum of activity is no longer possible. " - Ernest Becker

I did listen to this talk many times, and yet today, I have heard things I completely missed before. Feels like my understanding got much deeper once again. I do know this about your talks,they're deep and hard to grasp all at once. Thank you, Bhante, for your effort trying to teach us.

Would the pain which arises dependant on thoughts and feelings (worry, anxiety) also not touch "you" unless you appropriated it?
@HillsideHermitage

Sort of. Initially it would still be "touching you" even when you cease to appropriate it. However, if you sustain the attitude of non-appropriation and endure that "touch" without acting out of it, the touch would eventually fade away. That's when you'd know that the mind has become more free.

Feeling arrises you notice it and then you let it be making sure you do not want to get rid of it or in other words it comes and you feel the point of contact and then do nothing also making sure you are not resisting or keep track of how much time would it be there.
