Grammy-nominated worship collective Hillsong Young & Free released their highly anticipated, first-ever studio album, “III," earlier this summer. The third career album to date and first major release since their 2016 chart-topping “Youth Revival” project, “III” features 17 tracks that demonstrate Young & Free’s unparalleled ability to blend pop and EDM influences with powerful worship anthems and reflects a deepening, growing-up and coming of age that the band has experienced over the last few years.
BUILD is a live interview series like no other-a chance for fans to sit inches away from some of today’s biggest names in entertainment, tech, fashion and business as they share the stories behind their projects and passions. Every conversation yields insights, inspiration and plenty of surprises as moderators and audience members ask questions. It all happens several times a day live and live-streamed on BUILDseries.com.

isnt it interesting that when theyre asked "what do you guys hope people take away from this record when they listen to it?" , they talk about people finding hope, but not about meeting, repenting, and believing in Jesus ? or am i the only one that finds that strange.. also them wanting to collaborate with Kanye, or Beyonce, does say a lot about HYF.. what id like people to get from this message, is, think for yourself :) read your bible, and learn to judge with righteous judgment.. dont let feely-touchy music use your emotions... not trying to throw hate, just had things on my heart to share

Zack Rakotoarivony The gospel of Jesus IS hope! It's the only hope in our fallen world. They're spreading his love and shining their light in the midst of really dark times, and what's amazing is that it's actually garnering positive attention! It helps that they're beautiful, but the substance- the message, the GOSPEL is being shared with people who would normally be completely defensive. Their signature poppy, electronic praise and worship music is still singing scripture, so whether people realize it or not, they're speaking life over themselves, and quoting psalms of worship to God! That's a lovely opportunity for Holy Spirit to work. One plants, one waters, another harvests... They're doing a great job of planting seeds in people's hearts all over the world. As Christians, our job is to continue the conversations that lead to cultivation of relationship with Jesus... You can only do so much in a 3min song. BUT! If you're looking for an expertly produced dance track with a trance-y hip hop sound and infectious beats, with Christian themes, vulnerability, and thoughtful lyrics, Chance the Rapper and Kirk Franklin collaborated with Kanye West in "Ultralight Beam" on The Life of Pablo... There's literally an altar call in the middle of the song and a grand a Capella finish by a mass choir if that's what you're looking for.

Duct_Tape Heart i fully agree! the gospel is hope, but my issue if i can call it that, is that most of the people listening to Hillsong young and free dont know what the gospel is.. may i ask you what you think it is ? im talking about young and free specially because theyre focusing a lot on upbeat catchy songs..united and worship are doing a better job in my opinion of being sound in the doctrine they share .. i'll have a listen to that song and let you know what i think of it :)

I mean, you're right...it is short...but these kids are not up there claiming to be perfect. Let's not swap the plank for the splinter here. They've been given a massive (worldwide) platform to spread the good news of Jesus, which is a major responsibility, but that doesn't mean they'll make every right decision. Let's focus on the good that they're doing, and not focus so much on what they're wearing (or not wearing).

I know it is not just me but I'm not feeling that sort of conviction at all. I know we are not perfect and we still have a long way to grow as Christians. But it seems little by little, some church are comprising or some of the churches' areas to the world? I don't know the thoughts behind some words of these people . Only God knows. But if we fix our eyes on people, we'll stumble right. We'll all fall if we do. We should fix our eyes on God alone let Him fix things, and ask for the Holy Spirit to fill us.

Laura Berg Maybe that’s a faith statement for them. Like, maybe their prayer is that one day those people would live and make music for God. I don’t know, but that was just my take.

No, it's pretty consistent with other things I've heard people from Hillsong say like Joel Houston saying you can sing a Prince song to the glory of God. I was like, "dude, I believe in miracles but that's a little much." I still love Hillsong, I just think they're in danger of becoming compromised if they entertain this stuff. I also saw a video at their conference, where they had a little market set up and one of the bands they hired or asked to play was singing "get lucky" by Daft Punk. I know you don't always have to sing songs from Christians but at least refrain from songs about finding a lover in a club. At least have a basic rule of "no sex or drugs" when performing.

This said, I still love Hillsong. My pastors are friends wirh Brian and Bobbie and speak highly of them and have some great people around them. It's just the weird grey areas of trying to reach out and not be pharisees and judgmental but also not losing convictions; that's hard to balance.

It is my humble opinion that maybe the "take away" should be their only hope is Jesus (the ONLY name under heaven in which man can be saved.) What good is "good music" without sound doctrine (regardless of the sound docterin'). There are no rules as far as how we (as humans "earn" our way into the kingdom) as Jesus died on the cross in our place to die for our sins. That is good news. The ONLY news worth sharing...but instead... We try to "EARN" favor with fallen man (and woman) to feel good around them cuz we don't "offend" with the gospel? Sinners need a Savior and YES He loves us....but let's not make Jesus guilty of idolatry. (Loving something more than the Creator)(the gift more than the Giver).... What I'm trying to say here is that yes.... We love (because He first loved us) but Jesus also told us to share the Gospel. Not JUST be nice to everyone (except those that challenge the views we have)... Remember Jesus said to love EVEN the enemies? That is how Jesus displays how we are to be.... Forgive them Father, they know not what they do... (Ignorance) ... So fast forward a couple thousand years and we have nothing to be forgiven of? Bible still teaches that if we say we have no sin...we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. So we share the "nice" version of the ONLY HOPE man has and although He has ALL authority in heaven and earth...we decide to tell folks that Jesus will take you just the way they are. (Of course...we are all sinners)...and that is how Jesus receives those that have been handed to Him...BUT did the Father hand these people that have been sold a different gospel to Jesus? Remember the ones that claimed to do all the stuff that would set "Christian people" apart? They told Jesus...they healed in His name and cast out demons and. Performed miracles... He called them workers of iniquity...and that HE never knew them. 😞😞😞 Someone had a case of mistaken identity...these folks that thought they were IN..... to someone who may not know about sanctification..this is the process of letting Jesus deal with those sins that we may have claimed is part of our "identity" and then we recognize that those things we held onto....were not OF HIM. Part of the dying to self and being made more like Him. It is gonna be different for every individual. He covers us with His blood and won't need Maury Povich to see who the "daddy" is. But the fluffy emotion based power in His name gospel that folks try to peddle that give people a different view of Jesus are not doing these folks any favors while ignoring the heart condition we all are born with...(a wicked and evil heart) If you needed heart surgery...would you want the doc to be truthful with you and fix what only He can?....or would you want the doc to do a song and dance and entertain you and then ask you to offer a love donation?? We all are in a season of grace....God is allowing sinners that have been saved grace as well....as He has entrusted us (the Church) to spread the gospel to every nation in and out of season into the ends of the earth. (We don't need to share the gospel with mermaids and fish) So when will we not be afraid to share the truth of Who Jesus really is? God did NOT give us a spirit of fear...but of power. And the Gospel IS the power unto Salvation....and how will anyone hear it if nobody preaches it? I pray for unity of the church and to allow Jesus to be the Head of this body.... Otherwise...it looks like a Van Gogh disfigured nonfunctional divided kingdom. Jesus prayed that His disciples would be one with Him as He is with the Father. (When you recognize Jesus as God with us?....that is pretty intimate there) Jesus offers the Holy Spirit to those that trust Him as their Lord and Savior.... He doesn't divvy out the Spirit through music...just to make us feel good. This is to edify and BUILD up the church... Study the Word. God speaks through THIS. Know what is OF HIM! Use discernment....know the difference between the Lion of Judah and the lion that seeks to devour. Come Lord Jesus! Help us walk gently and humbly with the bold truth of Who You are AND what you've done.... Jesus is our King of all kings.....why do we fight Him in how He is building His church? I'm open for discussion. Jesus is worthy of ALL praise... I will not brag on my wise words as He is building His church on Spirit (He is the Rock) a firm foundation. I will brag on Christ Jesus! 😇😎😀😇😎😀😇😎😀😇😎😀

Funny there's interviews, there's albums uploaded on Spotify but there is not a church behind it at all. It is all about grab your US$1,000 dollar phone and show up at the club kinda of attitude. I'm not a Christian and this Hillsong "branding" Jesus stuff is really annoying, there's no depth and everything is based on a superficial level of relationship with them (c'mon we get that already in bars) and believe it or not there's no conversation with their pastors also, since I was after them for months because I was really curious about it and to me the conversation eye to eye really matters if something is that important but I'm no so sure if "salvation" and "curious new people" still is a important matter to them 'cause I'm not seeing much and I didn't in my personal experience. They don't even know their own "members" (actually they do in Excel sheets about how much they are earning, it is ridiculous and crazy), since they have to "protect" (?) themselves. #business

Julio Graziano that's actually 100% untrue and incorrect! I moved to NYC from a small town in FL in March. Not only have I made friends in church, but I've completed the introductory class for new members on the church's beliefs and structures. Then, I was able to serve as a volunteer at conference in Brooklyn last month! Tomorrow, I begin Bible college classes designed to offer more in-depth theological study and expansion on various topics. This month, we're starting with Genesis. If you go on the church website, there's enrollment for upcoming topics throughout the year! Also, there are small groups that meet all over the city that are designed to foster a sense of community between members because Sundays are simply not enough and the sheer volume of members make it difficult to develop relationships unless we see eachother more often... So we do! Church leadership is actually quite accessible. There is security in place, and there are processes, but it's silly to say that the church's music ministry is not backed by an actual church. This is a great ministry and they are consistent in their mission of evolving to reach young people who don't know Jesus! The Y&F isn't even the only band or ministry, they're just the most high profile because of the demographic they're meeting. Please don't slander a really beautiful thing with irrational judgement, personal opinions, and misinformation.
