Hello fellows,
Tashi Delek! This is Jamyang.
Today, I will take you to get a close look at the Tibetan Mastiff, a large breed of dog that can be found on the Tibetan Plateau, and now all around the world.
In Tibetan, the dogs are known as Drog-Khyi, which means "nomad dog", or "dog which may be tied/kept”.
The Tibetan Mastiff has been the loyal herd dog of the nomadic Tibetan herdsmen for thousands of years, protecting the herds and flocks from attacked by predators such as wolves, leopards, bears, and tigers.
A full grown male dog can reach up to 33 inches in height, and can weigh between 45-70 kilograms.
In Tibet, there exists a strong bond between the nomads and their hugely protective dogs.
As pups, the dogs live together with the family, and as time passes a friendship takes root between the mastiff and the family members.
Friendship and alliance is automatically understood by the mastiffs, as part of their natural instincts, and the bond that is forged between the dog and its family is unbreakable.
While they are primarily a working dog, bred specifically to protect the herds and the family, Tibetan nomads take extremely good care of the animals, and they are well fed and well looked after by their families.
I would like to share with you the story of Tibetan Mastiff, Dolma and its owner nearby Yamdrok Lake, and see how are their daily life.
Hope you will enjoy my video as usual.

Here I sit in America with all of my modern amenities and modern lifestyle and yet there is a part of me that yearns to live a life like he's living. Just look at all of the beautiful surroundings, the natural beauty. This is my idea of living and he's whistling while he works. That is happiness. I wish this man, his wife their dog and their entire family, continued health and blessings. 🙏🙂❤

Hello guys, this is Jamyang. Today, I would like to share with you the story of the Tibetan Mastiff, Dolma, with its owner, and show you how they spend their daily life. Dolma is engaged in Tibetan tourism, just like me. ✌️ As a working Tibetan Mastiff, Dolma has been attracting many of tourists taking photos with her soul-healing smiles. And I feel like that she does a better job than me 😅and I admire her so much during the pandemic period. 🤣 Her owner treats her as a child, taking very good care of her so I think Dolma should be very proud of being able to support her owner/family in this way. Hope you could have an intimate contact with Dolma in the future when you visiting our land. Please kindly share my videos with you friends of family if you like them. Thank you very much for all of your support. All my blessing to you all.❤️

I know some have criticized about the animals being tied up, but this is their reality. It is clear that the dog is loved and well cared for, and a working dog is a happy dog. the animals all look healthy, well fed, calm and social toward humans and well groomed even the cattle who sleep in their manure are well groomed (take it from me, manure stains white fur and these animals were not cleaned up just for the movie, they had to be in good shape) . They are doing the best they can with what they have. Look at the dogs and cats we have loose running around , the shelters full to overflowing and neglected farm animals in some cases here in the US, despite everyone of us having a higher income than these folks. These folks are examples of living well, taking care of each other and their animals as humane people. I admire them.

Someone commented he admire the farmer's joyful, outgoing attitude; singing as he walks and farms works. This is a perfect example, material things don't bring a person happiness. Oftentimes, it only makes you greedier. Clean, healthy living is the way to go... and the next thing you know, you'll be singing as you walk. Good luck, friends.

Yea But there are so many poor people that are not happy Like no food and no access to clean water This farmer is happy because He had a wife , roof over his head and he makes extra money on the side 🤔 he is a hard worker and is a hustler Probably the extra money that helps him & his wife out is what makes him happy 🤷🏻‍♀️
