I see e-bike prices are coming down they've been ridiculously high for the last couple of years so shop I think the bike is too high in price

Every bike brand has sales throughout the year. If you wait long enough sooner or later things get cheaper. Mid-drives cost more. Full suspension costs more. The other gadgets they added to this like the dropper post and lock cost more. I would not expect this bike to ever get down to the $1500 price range. I wouldn't be shocked to see it closer to $2000 during sale periods.

The dropper post and rear suspension are unnecessary add-ons that make this bike more expensive than it would have been without them. I don’t get Himiway’s thinking in including these features on a commuter ebike.

@@714mattman Himiway still has the Rambler (A5) commuter ebike which is available in a hub motor or mid-drive version that doesn't have full suspension and the other toys on it. The A7 is their top of the range. The Rambler is available for $1400 and $1500 for the hub motor versions and $2200 for the mid-drive. The rear suspension and other addons for the A7 Pro are only about a $200 upgrade from the mid-drive Rambler.

@@lowbudgetadventurers I stand by my point. Commuter bikes have no need of a dropper post nor full suspension. Especially as the bike already has fat tires. That in itself gives more cush to the ride than a skinnier tire bike.

I would love to see Ecells figures on comparison with your Himiway, Aventon, and Ride1Up

@@lowbudgetadventurers i just watched you compare 3 ebikes and i wanted to see how the Ecells Super Monarch AWD 1500 matched up to the same comparison that you just made

The E-CELLS Monarch is a 1500 watt dual motor bike with a 52 volt battery and torque sensor. I reviewed one dual motor ebike on my website but never did a video review for it. It only had a 48 volt battery and very delayed cadence sensor. It was a LANKELEISI MG740PLUS. I would expect the Monarch to come in around the 1 minute 40 seconds to 1 minute 30 seconds range for our hill climb test. It's going to beat the Aventure 2 by 15 to 20 seconds. It's still a 20 ah capacity battery so it will land around 40 miles throttle only or 50 miles pedal assist for range or a little less than a Himiway Zebra. Their published top speed is 32mph which seems on the low side for 52 volts. I'm not a fan of how the dual motor bike I had road. Going up steep hills, all your weight is on the rear wheel. AWD might help a tiny amount going through really bad mud but that's about it. For the money I would go for a 1000 watt mid-drive Bakcou Storm or Scout and have better climbing power along with more range and higher top speed. For reference. adventuregearinsider.com/lankeleisi-mg740plus-review/

@@lowbudgetadventurers I've got multiple ebikes mid drive, front hub, rear hub, dual hub, hub mounted mid frame (ELF trike), and from my experience I like the hub drives more, they don't have to rely on chain, they don't stress out chain drive system, I've had a chain break on a hub drive and forgot i could still power home!! My first ebike conversion which i still have is the Bafang BBSHD, 1000w, and it'll power past that of course depending on battery volts and controller, it's smooth, steady, but I'm favoring dual hub all the way, thank you for your opinion.. ebiking keeps me out of the car and thats just great for everything!!!

@7:11 THROTTLE: "it requires alot of shifting" --- would a rear hub motor solve the shifting problem? So if someone wants a throttle, a hub motor is preferable? Thank you
@lowbudgetadventurers
@lowbudgetadventurers 3 ай бұрын
If you want to ride throttle only most of the time, a hub motor would be a better option. You get the full speed range of the bike without needing to shift gears. The throttle is almost always proportional, even on $500 level ebikes. Any mid-drive will always power the bike through the pedal driveline, so it will require shifting when using the throttle. If your the type who likes driving manual transmission cars because you feel like you have more control, you might like the mid-drive with throttle combination.

You can ride this throttle-only, correct?
@lowbudgetadventurers
@lowbudgetadventurers 5 ай бұрын
Yes. You can ride with throttle only without pedalling. The only catch is that the throttle is more or less an on/off throttle. You get 0% or 100%. No proportional throttle. You have to shift gears up and down to get the bike to a speed you want to go with throttle held down.
@tonygiancoli9626
@tonygiancoli9626 5 ай бұрын
Well, the dealer I bought it from is saying that it's only throttle assist, which i know is wrong. I never would have purchased if it wasn't able to ride via throttle in case of emergency.@@lowbudgetadventurers

If you want a good throttle only bike I would definitely not pick a mid drive
@lowbudgetadventurers

@@asarogers4742 I agree. If you want to spend most of your time riding around just on throttle a hub motor bike will be a better choice.

@@lowbudgetadventurers understood. That's not my intention whatsoever. However, I want the ability to do so if the situation (injury, other health issue, etc) calls for it.
