If the goal is to STOP her from dying and basically change the things that led to her death then why THE FUCK would you knowingly do the exact same shit expecting a different result. And Takemichi is good at crying and tanking every punch you can throw at him and he will get back up no matter what along with his special choking skill he did with kiyomasa. Honestly he was a fool for lying and saying he liked someone else I think that's the reason why hina threw them hands at him. Hina would've understood better if he just came clean like "hey your father doesn't want us together, we can be together in so and so amount of time when im no longer in a gang" Plus the whole "there's a connection between me her and kisaki this is for the best" is plain dumb since regardless of them being together or him being in a gang kisaki still kills her. Mans purposely did the thing that resulted in the same outcome of the previous timeline then went "so thats how it happened"

Ugh I feel like this scene could have been better explained on the show because literally the scenes jumped around so quickly as a fan I don’t think I had much time to process that he was really going to leave her. I just kept thinking that this scene wasn’t even real like the writers need to slow down their role on the main plot and at least have a bit more coverage on why he’s leaving her since we won’t see hina till probably next season :/
