Very well explained... At end of day, the music, lyrics and ownership of song belongs to music company, song writer and film producer. For any instance whether you tweak wordings or change bit here and there in music, they would still claim it as end of day we use part of their creation. Unfortunately naked truth. Biggies want to control everything.

Hii Antara, that's because ,they will not have money in their pockets to invest for music. Making cover is cheap on cost. Only recoding and studio costs. Kareokes are available online for free ❤️ And covers will have more click through rate...as compared to originals.....allmost all original and indipendent artists like us are underrated always😔....unless one of our song gets viral After working for months we only get 300 views on originals. So people preffer covers. if he only want to grow as singer My own experience ❤️

To use a cover song in a movie/film is it still necessary to have the original copyright owner's approval and is the cost at the owner's discretion or is there a standard price across the board? To be more specific, I didn't write the song. I did my own version of the song. Thanks for any leads or information!

Hello sir! I made a guitar cover of the solo section of a song a few days back. I had used a backing track downloaded from the net for my solo. A day after my video was posted, it got a copyright claim and it was blocked. Now I am thinking of making the backing tracks all by myself. Still then would there be any chance of getting a copyright claim on my videos. Please suggest me some ways in which I can make covers of solo sections without getting a copyright claim.

As I said there's no surety that you won't get a copyright claim, but you can try and avoid using backing track which are same as original and create your own, doesn't guarantee monetization but still has much better probability.

Same with me..!! Almost 1minute out of 3 minutes having copyright claim.. I removed 1st stanza then and re-uploaded it.. Now there is no copyright.. But 1st stanza was too good in my guitar song but was gets removed due to dumb claim 😑

they want opportunities. you can compare it with pre-Internet era where it was difficult for people to even prove that they have talent. But now they can create influence and then attract brands via Instagram and YT. Obv if your videos get 2 lakh - 10 lakh views ( *cough* Aksh *cough* Baghla ), Then brands would be interested to sponsor your video for more money than ad revenue. And most of us know how less ad revenue KZfaqrs generate in India, compared to US or UK...
