There is something missing in this explanation. The secret is in the valve pin, being tapered. At idle, the vacuum is at maximum. You do NOT need maximum vacuum on the crankcase in this situation, so the valve restricts the flow. Under load, the vacuum decreases, the pin opens up and allows a partial vacuum to suck out the gasses. A lot of modern engines use a rubber diaphragm, to stop the vacuum at tick over. When this fails (splits), it puts a massive vacuum on the crank case and robs air into the fuel system, causing rough tick over and/or stalling.

Sir if the burnt gases go inside the intake manifold from the crankcase through the pcv valve then won't it harm the combustion? I mean the burnt useless gases r going inside the camber with fresh air...

Breathing line is Shown for understanding purpose.. actual charcoal canister simply Stores Hydrocarbons from Fumes of petrol and Release the Rest to atmosphere every time.. while it uses same Atmospheric air and supply those Hydrocarbons to Engine when needed!

My honda city gives white smoke only when the engine is cold. After 5-6 minutes of starting in the morning, the smoke vanishes. Is it because its pcv valve is not working

Pcv also helps in reliving crank vaccum which is built by movement of piston and not just exhaust gases while compression also the air when gets compressed gets behind the piston due to pressure which is unused air.

tumhe kisne pdhaya bhai... km se km pdhte waqt thoda dimaag lgaate to smjh ata ki at higher temperature, compression ring expand krengi and proper sealing hogi. At lower temperatures or in starting conditions, piston rings contract krengi and leakage k chances bdh jaaenge.

What do you understand by abnormal temperature? It is above the Operating temperature and thermal expansion rate of piston ring is very less due to its alloy Components so practically higher engine temperatures tends to produce the Gases which we don't desire, so first read and learn properly then comment on any video! All the content on this channel are created and verified by Experienced automobile educational professionals specially professors! So there is no point that this information is Fake or misleading. Your point is good but abnormal and high temperature we are talking here is above thermal stability level which cause thermal Damage as well as pollution.

Aur isse blow-by gases produce nhi hngi., Lekin apki video me jo ki unpad professionals ne bnaayi hhh it is said that at higher temperatures blow-by formation will take place. .

@@divyanshsharma9517 no matter how good sealing piston rings provide to the cylinder, because of high pressure some gases leak past the piston rings into the crankcase. Also if the piston ring is new then we can have proper sealing but as days pass piston rings are worn out so at high pressure blow by occurs. You can read NPTEL content regarding this.
