Religion like Hinduism and Buddhism concentrates more on humanity, being liberal and respecting life. My religion doesn't enforce anyone to think only in one way. That allows me to reason, test things and choose the best path. So, I love being a follower of Sanatan Dharma.

Paul says let us as Christians correct each other in Psalms and spiritual songs. Hence, in part why I say this. If I may ask, what particular beliefs pertain to those words? What do I mean by that you are probably asking. Many people use that term to apply to many different things and Paul warns that in these days many will both deceive this includes those in fact whose intentions are well but who simply have not studied as they should and unintentionally lead many astray. Many such teachings leave the word Christianity as meaning many different things and then Paul says others being deceived. So, if I may ask what does it mean to you to be a Christian? For we all must answer to God who will judge both the living and the dead. So, I ask again. To some this means once saved always saved which implies that once you accept Jesus that going to hell is impossible meaning that you do not have to make an effort through Christ spirit to overcome. To others this means. Please understand. Revelation 6 states NIV translation beginning at verse 7 reads: when the lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, "Come!" I looked and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague and by the wild beast of the earth. Revelation verse 7 and 8. This is the coronavirus as it is happening prophecy is being fulfilled. Are you ready for the day of judgment. In this same book, it is written that many will pray for the mountains to fall on them because when the true Christ return they will be too ashamed my brother to face Christ and its sad but true and these are well-meaning people who really genuinely want to love God and yet are not taught! So, I ask you again, What do you mean by the word Christian?

***** there is NO atheism is hinduism. Any reference to it is just a creation of colonial forces and their evangelists to demonize/dilute/distort hinduism after 17th century in then hindu civilization or present day India. People pointing the fake references of atheism and concluding it in such a way that hinduism also accepts atheism is just more fabrication of a fabricated philosophy. There was NO sage called "Charvaka" and nobody heard of this fabricated philosophy before immoral white christian men sneaked in to then hindu civilization or India in the 17th century

There is a lot of confusion in this gentleman's use of words which can change the fundamentals - for example when he says that Moksha is something like salvation, its forced assumption/ appropriation. please look at these again properly - Salvation is a Christian term which is defined as Christ forgiving and rescuing you from your sins. But Moksha is nothing about sins.. it is how Brahman manifests into creation as Aatman, and ultimately finds its way back through Moksha. there is no other involved in this process. It is not given or forgiven, granted or gifted by anyone to anyone. Moksha is pursued and attained through rebirths - how many ever times it takes for Aatman which has come from Brahman to again merge back in it. So, in the light of the present times, we don't need to limit ourselves trying to interpret or understand everything with a limited vocabulary. English has a good quality to absorb words and is updated every year officially with new words. This perhaps is done by observing the non-translatable nature of certain words which can't be avoided to make sense to its context. So let's use Moksha for Moksha, Salvation for Salvation. They are not the same. because these two Giant Terms are the bases of both Sanathana Dharma and Christianity and they just cannot be equated and if it is forced or assumed, it just shows negligence to both disciplines. Respect all with their own authenticity.

'Religion' is a fabricated concept that only applies to Judeo-Christianity and Islam. It's a concept that has always been alien to not only India's diverse cultures, but all human cultures across the world. India has never produced anything remotely resembling 'religion'. So there is no such thing as 'Hinduism' the religion. The same can be said about other alleged 'religions': 'Buddhism', 'Jainism', 'Sikhism', etc. India has always had great diversity of cultures and embedded within that syncretistic matrix have been various Bhakti Margs, Gyan Margs, Panths, Sampradayas, etc. None of those Bhakti Margs, Gyan Margs, Panths, Sampradayas, etc., has any similarity with 'religion', i.e. with Judeo-Christianity and Islam. 'Religion' is a colonial-imperial system that foolishly anathematizes 'syncretism' which is the active principle of all human cultures across the world. By anathematizing 'syncretism', 'religion' acts as an 'ethnocidal' force in the world. That is what Judeo-Christianity and Islam are. They are an 'ethnocidal' force. They act against all human cultures across the world and seek to undermine cultural autonomy and cultural syncretism. Judeo-Christianity and Islam supplant cultural autonomy and cultural syncretism by stultifying heteronomy and homogeneity. By undermining cultural diversity and creativity, Judeo-Christianity and Islam also pose a threat to the very survival of human species on Earth.

Actually doesn't apply to either Judaism or Islam, in their traditional forms. Both of these are traditional ways of life in which rituals, learning, devotions, ideas of proper conduct, etc., are woven into daily life (I'm speaking of those who live in traditional ways). They're not considered to be separate categories of life, "sacred/religious" vs. "secular/mundane."

His talk is as simple as his looks. Just fantastic. First 30 min are more than enough even for a lay man to understand the philosophy of Hindu Religion. I am a Hindu Brahmin, but always prefer to call it a "Sanatan Dharma" (Religion without begining and without end) rather than Hindu Dharma. Rightly because, the philosophy/basic good principles existed millions of years ago before so called "Hindu" dharma came into existence and they will continue to exist. What we did many years back is we kind of gathered / followed the best principles that should govern the human life, put all of them together and then named it "Hindu". The word "Hindu" therefore is nothing but a package of good principles a man should follow (read a man can follow) to lead a peaceful life in the Society. The philosophy of Hindu Religion is not dictated by any founder but by these holy books called Shruti, Upanishada and Vedas. Basically what people don't understand is the real meaning of Dharma. "Dhar" meaning to wear (dharan) "Ma" meaning "Man" (mind). Putting it together; Dharma means to wear/ bear good thoughts in one's mind. If one follow this simple theory, he or she is a Hindu by heart. And that is the reason why each one of us who has a belief like this is technically Hindu...

Though he makes it seems all religion is good, he probably doesn't know there are contradictions when comparing the various religions n the teachings cancel each other out! Which means one ultimately has to seek n find the true God n not follow the imaginations of religious leaders of the past though they were handed down in good intentions!

Learning about religions is very interesting. My parents were raised in the Roman Catholic tradition. As with most parents, my parents thought it was their duty to raise me and my brothers in the Roman Catholic tradition. Never considering that it might be better to just let us grow up without a specific religion. The Roman Catholic tradition includes believe in a soul. It does not include animals in this idea. I did not have to contend with the idea that animals have souls. The tradition does not include belief in multiple births and deaths. In looking at beliefs of other religions that seem incredible, I am able to see the beliefs within Roman Catholicism that are also incredible. Learning about physics and evolution and the role of science, I have been easily able to let go of religion. Your talk has been very helpful in my journey from belief to non belief.

' Karmache bhog' is a very common adage used whenever someone is in trouble. Meaning whatever baggage you have collected due to your karma you have to go through the process of repaying it and you cannot escape it. If you cannot pay it in one life you will have to come back again to repay. That is the principle and relation of karma and rebirth. Only after you have made your account zero after repaying full wil you be qualified to attain moksha!

Its better if Muslims dont read our sacred texts because it would lead to serious misinterpretations. If u read a book with hatredness you can never get knowledge from it. You cannot proove Lord Ram did anything wrong, its only your hatred towards Hindus which is projected in your imagination. Please come out of Hallucinations that Hindu Gods are evil. Yoga is invented by Hindu Gods. our Gods used to speak Sanskrit which is a perfect language for scientific advancements.

I like this discussion very much, and enjoy learning about Hindu traditions as well as others. Dr. Mehta's explanation of the meaning of Namaste is lovely. I find that many Hindu teachers misunderstand Jewish tradition. Not in a bad way. But they -- and many others -- think that Jewish tradition is essentially Christianity minus the New Testament. It's actually quite different. For example, the point about many books versus one book. Jewish tradition does not have just one book. It has many, many books. The Talmud itself consists of many volumes, giving details of observance, stories, rules of conduct, ethical teachings, and more. There are volumes called _midrash:_ stories and teachings that elaborate on earlier writings, as well as codes of Jewish law. There are virtually endless volumes of commentary, discussion, history, tales of wonder -- even magic and mysticism. And while the Torah is considered the primary and oldest source, these other books are also regarded as sacred. These commentaries, practices, discussions, etc., continue to be written today. I'm less informed about Islam, but my understanding is that it's a similar situation. There's the Qur'an, but also the Sunnah, like the Hadith. There are modern rulings and decisions, and iirc, commentaries, philosophy, ethics, biographies of holy men and women, etc.

There is little bit difference in salvation and liberation. Moksha means liberation from birth and death cycle on other hand salvation is getting rid of your sins. So I think that was wrong.

Then there was neither non-existence nor existence, Then there was neither space, nor the sky beyond. What covered it? Where was it? What sheltered it? Was there water, in depths unfathomed? Then there was neither death nor immortality Nor was there then the division between night and day. That One breathed, breathlessly and self-sustaining. There was that One then, and there was no other. In the beginning there was only darkness, veiled in darkness, In profound darkness, a water without light. All that existed then was void and formless. That One arose at last, born of the power of heat. In the beginning arose desire, That primal seed, born of the mind. The sages who searched their hearts with wisdom, Discovered the link of the existent to the non-existent. And they stretched their cord of vision across the void, What was above? What was below? Then seeds were sown and mighty power arose, Below was strength, Above was impulse. Who really knows? And who can say? Whence did it all come? And how did creation happen? The gods themselves are later than creation, So who knows truly whence this great creation sprang? Who knows whence this creation had its origin? He, whether He fashioned it or whether He did not, He, who surveys it all from the highest heaven, He knows-or maybe even He does not know. - Rig Veda, X.129

Dr.Jay has tried to explain Hinduism well. I do not like your comment that you are half Christian and half Hindu which appears to be as a politically correct statement. Similarly, casteism has been explained inadequately disregarding varna system the right way. You are not born a Brahmin or Sudra. It is your inner nature that decides what caste you are.Rishis , many of them belonged to the lower caste as described by Dr.Jay. Today, casteism as practised, has little relevance.
