Remembering George Logan who sadly passed away yesterday, and his partner in comedy, Patrick Fyffe. A truly marvellous double act, the likes of which we are unlikely to see again.

In a perfect world, they would be my two great aunts who come to visit at Christmas.

I was one half of Kit and the Widow. West End shows, TV specials, an aeon ago. Very often I was asked, Aren't you Hinge and Brackett out of drag? What a compliment! Seriously.

Love this duo so much. Their gentle humour is much needed nowadays. Long live their memory

This is stratospherically above a drag act. They are two "living" characters who have such depth and skill and know their audience which in so many ways they created.

I had no idea, until YEARS after they'd stopped working, that they weren't women. No idea at all. Love them so much

Dame Hilda is not just technically excellent, there is such character and joie de vivre in her voice. Pure gold

Those of us of a "certain age" will no doubt recall elderly relatives who resembled these immaculately created characters, so fondly portrayed here. Talent of a rare kind that was itself intrinsically kind to its invented creations.

I loved Hinge and Bracket, if you ever get a chance to see Dame Hilda cleaning her glasses is one of the funniest things ever.

I remember when this was first broadcast, I was still in primary school. "Tiddle pom, stretch clap" - " she thinks she`s Eileen Fowler". Brings it all back!

What a magnificent duo. This has made my day! We have nothing anywhere near as good nowadays. Such a pity.

They had no equal totally magicical. Never thought of them as a drag act, they were pure entertainment.

I met these ladies a few times and they were so much fun in real life. We weren't friends as such, we just moved in the same circles and I saw them out of drag which was such a surprise as they were very different to their characters. I was saddened to hear that George Logan died a few days ago. Patrick of course died in 2002.

One of my favourite memories is seeing this wonderful duo at Birmingham Town Hall. I doubt there was a dry eye in the place from all of the laughing.

Lovely to see these two ladies again just after hearing that George Logan had passed away. I've also read all the comments written here over the years and they have made me laugh as much as H&B did. Most get it, some don't, and that make it see even more entertaining! To see that George Logan also followed these comments and tributes from Kit H-H was humbling and touching. Thank you so much for bringing this harmless and wonderful humour back into the light.

Wonderful, wonderful, what an entertainment. Patrick Fyffe was a genius. On one occasion when I met him, he told me there was about a foot of snow that night, the audience were indeed lucky to get there at all ! = or get out afterwards - dont suppose they would have cared if they stayed all night, Hilda would have kept going till dawn ! Marvellous!

Hilarious: quite a bit of the music hall tradition and old standup comedy with heaps of tasteful camp.

I loved the reference to Eileen Fowler. There's one for the teenagers LOL.

Talk back was remembering shows, acts & songs of yesteryear. These two, were in our house, were a must watch. I do not think my parents ever realesed about Hinge & Bracket, yet they oved the show & were a bit sad when it stopped.

Radio 4 extra are playing their Radio shows at the moment. Utterly brilliant, amazingly sharp and clever.

Patrick Fyffe (Dame Hilda),had a cameo role on the film 'Steptoe rides again' his name on the credits was 'Perry St Clair', no doubt his name when a solo act.

Wonderfully talented entertainers. It’s so sad that their time on the stage was cut so by Patrick’s untimely death. His high notes were fantastic!

I had the pleasure of having a delightful conversation with the two of them one evening after a performance in Taunton while they were in a local club.

Ha ha. Eileen Fowler. As primary school pupils in in the early 1960s we had to do exercises with Eileen Fowler on the BBC radio.

Pure joy. Does anyone know of a tribute act? My father wasn't too keen on me liking this duo as a young one. I loved them and they used to make me laugh. They were both funny & were part of my childhood. When I was told by my mother who they were, I loved them even more. My mother & I are both fans to this day. Going to look for DVD's so I can take with me, next time I visit. Thank you so much for posting. This is brilliant, I am most thankful that you have shared a memory of my past.

I Saw them once at Wolverhampton Grand Theatre and it was the best laugh I had in a long time and it was such a shame that the half died and the other one packed it in as they made a perfect team
