This is the second video on cooking using a conventional box type solar cooker .
In conventional box type Solar cookers , we use direct the sunlight falling on a the glass surface, The light is converted into heat inside the box. The box behaves like a Green house trapping heat inside the enclosure.
In this video ; we have also tried to show some critical thermal petameters in play during the cooking period.
Cooking is fairly simple using solar cookers . Even under sub 30 degrees temperature, it is possible to cook a nice nutritious meal.
A tropical country like India which is blessed with more than 250 days of good sunshine in most parts of the country must harness the full potential of solar energy available in the country.
As against the solar PV system (18 to 21 Percent), the solar Thermal systems have very high efficiency to the tune of 65 to 70 percent. Also the IR spectrum of the sunlight contains more energy compared to the visible light spectrum.
