1 refers to 1ms attack and 7 refers to 0.1ms attack 1 refers to 1secnd release and 7 to 1ms release

I’d def like to pick your brain on tracking hip hop vox in general man. I have a similar boom bap 90’s / aggressive style as you. And have been buying / selling multiple interfaces & preamps over the last 2 years out of frustration with the quality I’m getting in the tracking stage

Did you used a compressor on the beat alone? If so what one or what plugin do you use? Hard to see it 4:38

Sorry for the delayed response and poor vid quality. My first attempt at using OBS. I didn’t do any compression on the beat. This is mostly focused on recording vocals using the included plugins.

Typically for a beat I use the SSL G-bus or Vertigo VSC-2

I still have the Apollo and bought the unison 1073 but the results are just way too harsh & sillibant no matter what unison or external pre I use. Doing all this buying / exchanging / testing has been super exhausting & counter productive to releasing music

On the 1176 "7" is the fastest and "1" is the slowest. It's opposite of what you said. It's also measured in microseconds which are faster than milliseconds. Lastly, the hardest compression setting is 4 and the least is 20.
