He went home to take care of his girls. My neighbor growing up was one of Hailie's teachers, and she would always talk about how present he was for her at all school events and parent teacher conferences. An adult can easily work more than 40 hours a week if its not a hard physical labor job but what Michael means here is just put every day the work in it and chill/relax so you can do it again the next day and the next day. Working 16 hours is pointless if you can reach the same amount of productivity with 8 hours of work.

At my country 8hr or working is 9-6. Some place 8.30-5.30. 1hr of your lunch break is not included in the 8hr of working. Corporate companies don't' pay for your lunch break time.

@@yumizera1182 don't tell me, Australia? Lol same as me bro, I'm an engineer and if I start at 9, technically I'm not supposed to leave until 6 because I take an hour lunch but I don't care. I do 8 hours with an hour break and that's it. Too much of a fucking commute I don't get paid for to get to work

Went to the comments to be like “yea he did that for his kids, no doubt” and then I read someone say in the comments that “in the the rest of the interview, Akon says it was because of Em’s kids.” Makes perfect sense. Wakes up, takes them to school, eats lunch, probably has someone pick the kids up, home for dinner, bath time, bed time, wake up, breakfast with family, repeat. Eminem is a true family man and showed every rapper, fan, anyone he could, that he will always be a father first. People usually either become or avoid being like the parent they dislike or like the most. I’m glad he did the right thing and avoided being an absent father in his children’s lives.

Set those boundaries to keep work from following you home. I imagine that's common for some creative types. Fresh perspective the next day, maybe he decides to change or scrap his verse cause he wasn't feeling it after he had stepped away.

The thing about leaving a task undone and returning to complete it later, like em clocking out at 5pm and coming back at 9 am, is that within those hours, you can always find a way to make it better than if you rushed it and tried to finish it in one shot.
