They call themselves the ‘Rowdies’ (noisy and disorderly people), a pet name gifted to them lovingly by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. All of them travelled thousands of miles to be with Swami, even in His personal chambers in the 1970s. One of them actually wrote the lyrics for the song Swami uses to define Himself - ‘Love Is My Form’. Their experiences transport us to a mystical and magical divine world and we will find ourselves sighing with longing and yearning to enjoy Swami as a friend like them. In 1996, some of them met in Feathered Pipe Ranch, Helena, Montana, USA, and this video, taken at that time, shows their remarkable story.
Taking part in this story are Howard Levin (first of the five to speak), Bruce Bradbury, Wendel Field, Robert Conger, and Martin Stamp. Others of that group, like Jerry Bass and Phil Gosselin, were not present.
Michelle Malvin Kaplowitz asks the rowdies questions, and we hear chuckling from Vijay Marsha Supera Huffman, sister of India Supera, owner of Feathered Pipe Ranch.

Howard was my boss and friend at the Feathered Pipe the summer after I finished high school. I had become friends with other Sai devotees my freshmen year in high school who also worked at "the ranch". Collectively, along with Howard, and Vijay and India Supera, they introduced me to Sai Baba stories and teachings. What a privilege to connect and work with such kind and blessed souls. I had several Sai Baba dreams during this time. They so inspired me that following my first year of college I sold my motorcycle, bought a plane ticket to Japan to make some money teaching English for the summer, then took the next semester off to travel to Prasanthi Nilayam to find Swami. Wonder-filled moments sharing with the group their blessed journey to self. Loved every moment of the video.Thank you . I first traveled to Puttaparthi in 1993 with my father and my partner after Swami came into our lives and showered us with His Grace; saving me from myself. Seems like yesterday. Sai Ram.

Sai Ram, What a blissful and jovial stories from the yesteryears, thank you for sharing! From their conversation, this video recording appears to be from the year 1996 about 27 years ago! However, Swami’s stories are so timeless that every effort should be made to record the experiences from the millions of His devotees in some form or another for the posterity! To this end, recent initiatives from the SSSIO in help train devotees in videography, interviewing skills etc would come in very handy indeed! 🙏🙏 Ben from down under
