Hey guys! So I do linguistics at uni and 'spewing' is a term from Middle English (1600s) and it means 'to vomit' :) It probably made its way to Australia through settlement. There's loads of research into Australian words and even accents that were originally English/Scottish/Irish etc.! I would guess that it made its way to Australia and not America because of the difference in the time periods where mass migration/settlement occurred :) Love your channel and you guys and hopefully you found this interesting! xxx
