Once you get the Number System and Circle of 4ths down, this song is super easy to play.

It is RARE to find a tutorial where the instructor is actually calling the Progression. This is where the musicians who play by "ear" are separated from musicians who have literally spent time and money on music school and know what they are doing.

Thank you sooo much for your kind words! I really do take my teaching seriously. Thanks for noticing!

@@PlaybyHear The only musicians who do not notice what you are doing are musicians who do not know how it works. I have tried my best to get these young musicians with all kinds of expensive instruments to learn how to read and write music. I am 64 years old and have had my hands and mind on music since I was 10 years old, and I still go to tutorials for more advice and structure. I can't imagine stepping out with my keyboard and not know my Circle of 4th's 5th's etc.

We have tons more like this at 5 different skill levels on our playbyhear site. Check out the free section on our home page. The Number System and Circle of 4ths are included.

Good observation Jeffrey. I'm glad you picked up on that. But I purposely said "circle of 4ths". Music by default moves by 4ths and not 5ths. Jusy follow the bass on a song like "Never would have made it". C-B-E-A-D-G-C-F. B to E is a 4th, E to A is a 4th. A to D is a 4th, etc. Try the same thing on " In the Sanctuary" by Curt Carr, or the last part ("Reeal") on Jesus is Real. I have a whole section covering this on the "Play by Hear Site". I also have tons of songs using this same pattern. If you play one, you can play them all. It's the easiest method ever. Check out the free samples on the home page.

What is the best way to learn this numbering system with out hitting major chords in the right hand
@PlaybyHear5 жыл бұрын
The 1 chord is the only major chord. The rest are other various chords. I have a couple on You Tube, but I have them in all keys on the Play by Hear site. I also have a couple of videos explaining the various chords.

You don't mind if you can break it down slowly or play the notes of the songs first to know what it sounds like and then teach.

Look at our video called, "Number System" in D flat. If you memorize those chords, then this video will be a lot easier. God bless you and your ministry.

Lol! The main thing is, relax and take your time. Check your body to make sure you're not getting anxious. You can also read some articles in our blog, "The Encouragement corner". It contains helpful Music Psychology articles. Hang in there!

I bought material from your website but communication is a let down from your side. most of your purchased items assume that some has knowledge of what you covered with them earlier I don't know why is that.
@nedaari15 жыл бұрын
Looks like his videos are pretty old. I might be able to help you...what was confusing?
@PlaybyHear5 жыл бұрын
Keep in mind that our material is presented on 5 different skill levels. Always be aware of which level you are on. When in doubt, start with a structured course like, "Play for Your Church in 30 Days". If all else fails, call us!

I think it's the circle of 5ths......
@PlaybyHear5 жыл бұрын
When figuring sharps and flats, you use the circle of 5ths. But music moves naturally by 4ths. When you get the concept behind that, you move to a whole new level musically.
