Xi might have stayed in America. He may have enjoyed it. I genuinely believe he felt something special was there. However, he certainly didn't understand what that thing was. Xi should try to explain this to his successor, this failing to grasp at this strange sentiment. This person might, we hope, possibly know and be able to carry it forward.

I actually feel bad for Xi in ways. I had a dream about him and in that dream he was a simple man who actually has some positive feelings towards the West. Nonetheless, he has given the West little reason to warm to him and his version of China, so we haven't. Soviet hard power is a turn off for all, I'm afraid.
