I have it at home for my new born. I placed it on a hard surface and then placed 4 thick towels on top. It alarms when I take the out and forget to turn it off. It really gives me a peace of mind.

I have it (new) and today when I took baby to eat I forget to turn it off and it didn't sound the alarm... So it's not that perfect.

Hi, Could you tell me that thickness of mattress you use with this device and what types of materials are in this mattress (latex, foam, coconut, woven air core, etc. )???
