+Au Yeung Ka Chon Personally, I preferred the one from 1999. As during those times, anime art and film colours are much are dark, old and twisted. but no matter is it 1999 or 2011, we need to appreciate the people that work so hard behind making this series no matter which years it was. both 1999 and 2011 had put alot of effort into making it. they are equal master piece, and not one is better than the other one. If people have to think that 2011 is better due to the graphics being more HD and the flow is more smooth, this people have to under stand the animation technology was not that good in 1999 when compared to 2011, it this possible that the HXH 1999 version had one of the best animation graphics there is during that era and could also in need of more effort due to lack to latest animation tools.

What makes this scene amazing is the fact that Hisoka's uncontrollable battle lust was making his nen aura leak out and Gon (who knew nothing about nen) intuitively felt a deep sense of danger from it. Anyone would've fled in a heartbeat, but Gon being the monster he is, beat his fear and executed a flawless strategy to steal Hisoka's number tag under that pressure.

That first scene (the Hisoka erection scene) was done way better in 1999 version, It captured Hisoka better in that part of the story than the 2011 did, how crazy and malicious he can be. Honestly the 1999 had stuff that were done better than the 2011, and the 2011 had stuff that were done better than 1999. New fans shouldn`t sleep on the 1999 version and vice versa . HxH fans should appreciate both depictions and takes on the story and characters.

I agree. I mean, I'm an avid Hisoka fan (not ashamed) so, it was um...very surprising to see how well that scene was portrayed in 1999 versus 2011. In 2011, it seemed like that entire scene was lacking, and most of it was sky closeup. Sure, 2011 has stunning animation and voice actors, but I feel that a kind of passion is missing from it. Idk that's just me.

For those who might be interested to know which is the song that sounds when Hisoka is doing his best to contain his bloodlust back in minute 0:37, the song is called Kanashimi no Fuousu and it is in the Vol 2 of the OST of the 1999 series; sadly like most of my favourite tracks of the series it is a damn short song, just barely above a minute in duration.

I'm currently watching the 1999 version and I gotta say I'm loving it so far. But when it comes to the 1999 vs 2011 debate I can't really pick a side, both are great. Some scenes/character designs in the 1999 version are better than the 2011 version for instance, Hisoka's bloodlust scene is a lot more terrifying in this version.

1 thing I love about the 2 hxh series For the 1999: it explains the story better because on episode 1 of the 1999 you see some reasons on why gon really wants to be a hunter while on the 2011 version is just him going to the boat and saying "I am going to find dad and become the best hunter in the world!" And I also like the dark and brutality of the 1999 For 2011: I just like the graphics and the extend of it

I wish they would have kept this over the top effect since everything seems to be so subtle in the 2011 version (I love it though). Imagine how dope it would have been to see those RAW reactions with the 2011 version ? I’m all about it.

やっぱり新か旧か？どっちにしろ初見の方が思い入れが強くなるもんだよね。絵柄や声質、音楽、雰囲気などなど初見の内容でイメージや世界観が確立しているのだから、どちらが先にしろどうしても後のシリーズに違和感を感じてしまうのは当然かもしれない。自分はやはり旧派かな。特にヒソカは完全に1999年版に限る。笑
