Like many things in the Universe, there is a balance. A part of me is sure that could this priest awaken, our marvels would only reinforce his belief that this was Heaven. And when you think of it that way, it's a frightening idea, that resurrection might be worse than peacefully slumbering on.

it's always surprisingly moving to see someone's remains after such a long time. there's nothing that makes these ancient civilizations feel more real and alive than seeing the people that lived inside of them first hand. all these people with lives similar to our own, forgotten about and buried under the sand for thousands of years, all with their own story and hopes and dreams. just some little humans trying to put up a stand against the horrifying reality of death and forgetfulness. an intelligent creature being aware of their place in this world, but ultimately having to hand back the reigns of their consciousness to oblivion, no matter the life they lived. very humbling, even though i think about it all the time. it's beautiful to have such a rich culture surrounding death and resurrection symbolism. i bet they were aware that there was likely no actual afterlife, but that just by sharing these stories and images with people far into the future, they would be resurrected within our memory. i'm happy to take on that role for them, as i'm sure many other people are as well. i can't have anything but massive respect for these people. when i was younger i always wanted to become an archaeologist/egyptologist, but practical realities and personal shortcomings have never allowed that to happen. i'm glad there are countless videos and documentaries i can watch instead though.

Mabe the smaller female figure; in the priests' tomb; is a daughter. Many times in Egyptian statues, the children are depicted as smaller figures next to their very large father figure. Excellent video.
@sandytrani285013 күн бұрын
This seems more appropriate to me because the small size would correspond more logically to a little girl and not to an adult unless size would have another meaning under ancient Egypt such as representing the social rank lower than that of a priest and of his wife ? Only an experienced Archaeologist could answer this with more precision.

Single and headly, might I add? 😉. Or let my scythe itself be damned. For I'm depth, the stroyer of words! Now, back to John Anthony West: A partir de ce cycle-ci, vous aurez en main tout ce qu'il faut pour n'avoir plus jamais besoin de personne pour vous orienter: ATUM > ATEM, ya qu'une direction, vous pouvez pas vous tromper, c'est comme un circuit éléctrique en fait, l'Egypte Antique. ATEM...

14:40 another (small) woman between the shown man and his wife, named 'she that makes the heart alive', and he just thinks its another lover, when it makes much more sense to think its their daughter, no idea why he doesnt come up with this explanation xD also am i the only one that thinks the squared shaft down looks different in quality compared to the tomb that might have been dug by other people than those that made that shaft? there are many of those squared shafts on the plateau, they could have been around since who knows how long, might have even be filled up parially with sand when they then been reused as entry points to make tombs..

Yes, interesting.. but the REAL incredible discovery was made a few month ago by two italian researchers with the Sintetic Aperture Laser from an ESA satellite, and they discovered that below ALL the Giza plains there is an incredible labyrinth of chambers, hallways and cavities.. Why no relevance and even attention neither has been done to this?
