One of my g fondest memories of Oshkosh ‘81 was my dad surprising me with a ride in a Bell 47. I’ll never forget seeing all the aircraft from that vantage.

I just love watching and listening to this Bell helicopter. Also fascinating is the pilot. So skillful. Lifts it up, pulls out and just lands on the mark with that quarter kick turn before setting down. Mesmerizing. Makes me wanna fly it! Oh- in my dreams of course.

When I was a kid, now 70 years old, in my town of Columbia South Carolina, the SC State Fair would have helicopter rides with the Bell 47. I remember one year they had the lager 47 with doors as most times it was cold at our fair in October. I have flown in a Bell 47 twice in my life and it is the only one I think I would own if I had the money. Such a pure flying machine.

They were removed because the helicopter was loosing a lot of power

How much mantinence has to be done and the operating cost on A Bell 47 ?

I was only a tourist there, filming this Beauty, you can research Bell 47 online and you should find the answers

One-hour maintenance for every half-hour of flight. Not sure of the cost.
