Don't forget, Jaden McDaniels shut down MPJ the entire series except for game 3 and Jaden also scored 20+ points two games in a row, which is how Minnesota won this series. If Jaden becomes consistent next season and can give you 17ppg while still being a lock down perimeter defender, Minnesota will be back in this same spot next season in the WCF. There was a couple rebounds Lively got where it was him in the middle of 3 Thunder players. I was shocked. Earlier in the game Lively was shaky, dropping passes, not going up strong. The second half he really wiped all that away. Incredible performance by a rookie. I don't even know what I just watched. Mavs must have really impressed Bontemps in that series. I mean I'm honestly floored right now. And yeah If you have watched Luka's defense in these playoffs, I would say his defense is closer to Ant's than Ant's offense is to his as far as the impact it's going to have on a game.

A superstar and the next "face of the league", was non existent in a game 7, but yet people are so desperate to praise him that they're talking about how he played hard defense in the 2nd half, as if he is a role player or something. People can say "defense this and defense that", but it simply is not superstar stuff. Edwards is a great player, but he's on what was clearly the best western team going into the playoffs, and that's the big thing. I had them and Boston as my picks, except I actually think Minnesota will win it all now.

While I don't disagree that the Wolves' defense was good, I don't think the poor shooting percentage from Denver in the 2nd half was due to them being "smothered."
