The powerful steam engine 95 1027-2 is especially designed for steep tracks like the Rübeland Railway (Rübelandbahn) in the Harz mountains with a maximum gradient of 6 % (adhesion railway, no cogwheel). The steep track of the Rübelandbahn shown in the video begins at Blankenburg (Harz). At the reversing station Michaelstein, the train has to switch directions, therefore you will see the directions of the locomotive changing in the video. The final station of the train is Rübeland, where the engine's water reservoirs are refilled.
