I'm from Catanduanes. It was my first-ever experience of my life witnessed such kind of disaster during Christmas holiday (Dec. 25, 2016) wherein the holiday season supposed to be celebrated. A lot of students most especially the college-level students doing their thesis suffered during those times because we endured almost 3 months without electric power supply.

Correction Nock-ten (Nina) 2016 - 260 kph or 160 mph The Nina of 1973 never affected the Philippines, it affected taiwan and china.

I remember this typhoon i was forced to go outside of my house because of the water getting inside because of the drainage system is clogged by the leaves so i had to do what i need to do i was forced to pail the excess water away from the door all while the typhoon is reacking havok around me at 8:10pm (the critical time for this typhoon) all alone no electricity nor light i was also very much wet because also i had no raincoat and pretty much cold to due to the 179 kph winds comming towards me. I also stepped on a nail too because of the scattered debrises but i didn't pay attention to it The winds and rain finnaly subsided around 10:00pm local time

President Duterte may need foreign assistance, namely the US, to help his people recover if this typhoon hits them hard. This is exactly why one should never unnecessarily burn bridge. You never know who you'll be looking to for help in the future.

Donald January the fact that our President is just being wise here. Our president is just fighting for our countries independency which is the fact that US trying to manipulate us or be there puppet that will follow all what they said. President trying to change our country and I can say that he is doing his best for it. Filipinos has been a puppet for a thousands of years before that's why there perspective in life is just being a servant 👌 only few who is wise enough to leave that comfort zone of us which they are being successful like a businessman. The fact that US try to began a war because they want us to fight for spratli Island which is president duterte is being wise because obviously we are the one who will suffer if the war began. In that case president humble himself and just negotiate with China they have a deal. As we all know War is destructive it can't cause any good to everyone. The one that is really strong is not the one who always want a fight but the one who is strong enough to humble himself for the goodness of everyone. For us we are so proud to our president because even he is not perfect but he know how to be humble unlike anybody that always has their pride even the safety of others is in danger. I know that we still need help in some terms but we should be free in terms of making decision for our country 👌 the fact that US are trying to control us is not really good 😩 we are sorry if our president is mean but its just his way of expressing that he is disagree in what US saying. Being straightforward is more good than backstabbing right 👍👌
