HISTORIC WRC - Fiat Abarth 124 Rally - how not to lower your ride

7 жыл бұрынThis is a result of lowering standard suspension of a 124 - this changed the geometry of the car making it go wild . Note: geometry is not limited to toe and camber.There is at least 20 separate key angles and measures. Lowering the suspension without understanding car geometry altered all of them and hence the result : complete instability and unpredictability.

What a horror crash. Glad you are okay. Most people dont seem to understand it, but thats motorsports. Can happen to any of us.

I restored a number of these always amazed how thick the sills / rocker panels and inner structure is on these cars . Pininfarina made a strong structure on these cars reminds me of benz w107 like. Of not as much as the benz whis is a tank. The car handled th crash well

I try to tell people all the time about doing stupid things to their 124 not understanding suspension geometry. I could cry seeing such a rare car being destroyed by a moron.
