What was an ancient Greek symposium like?

Today the word symposium holds a different meaning, but in antiquity, the symposium (or symposion) was practiced among the elite of the ancient Greeks, Romans, and Etruscans. What are the origins of this practice and what was it like to partake in ancient Greek symposium?

30 years ago I was a potter making ancient Greek vases. . using terrasigilata slips The making of a kylix cup is a devil to make. As a young man entering the symposium for the first time he would commission the potter to make him his own cup, many of these cups carry names of who it was made for. The ancient Greeks also laced the wine with plant extracts,

How much wine is in a krater?

It really depends on the krater. Their sizes in height would range from 30cm up to 150cm. The largest krater ever found is the Vix krater, which was made out of bronze, weighed around 200kg and had a 1.63m height.

I didn't want to talk about it because there was a chance of the video being demonetized, but I did give some hints, like the presence of the 'heterai', the high class prostitutes and the fact that they flirted with each other. There was sexual intercourse of course, mainly in wild celebrations, but it was the exception rather than the rule.
