Mexico continued to produce air cooled Volkswagen Beetles until 2003.

How many, if any, individuals had fully paid for their Beetle when the war disrupted production? The problem with such a business model (i.e. pre-paying for the vehicle) is that once production fully ramped-up, supply would quicky outpace demand unless there were plans to export the surplus vehicles.

America needs a car like the Bug again. Gas is so high now and $30,000 for a cheap car thats made out of plastic.

Porsche never designed the beetle, he stole the design from a Jew from Czechoslowakia. He also designed and built tanks for the Nazis.
