Hi Justin. I'm Lore and I was born and raised in little old HOLBROOK AZ. Born in 1968, and I'm now 54 years old. I really enjoyed your video. Brought me back a lot of beautiful memories. My dad use to work at the old plainsman restaurant and the Butterfield restaurant too. And a few other restaurants you showed. On the opposite side of the Bucket of blood is, there's an old hotel still standing, it was Arizona Rancho also known as Higgins House. Sure wish you would have gone in that direction. It always gave me the creeps, cus in front of the hotel was a huge window, at night they had a lil lamp that lit the lobby. Reminded me of Bates Motel. So hopefully if you ever go to Holbrook Az again try going to that hotel and hopefully you can explore it. Growing up there I never got to go in it. Just always walked by it. Again Thank you so much for that video. I really got a kick out of you when you went to the hotel in Gallup. Looked really pretty and scary. God bless you. 💜

I love buildings that were built a long time ago. I've never been to El Rancho, but apparently a bunch of people could stay in that suite for a while if they were filming a movie in the desert or were hiding out from trouble in Hollywood.

Funny part is I live not that far from el Rancho and I refuse to set foot in that place because when I was younger I was in there to have lunch with my wife and mother and I swear the hairs on the back of my neck where standing on end. I kid you not once I saw something out in the corner of my eye float past the side of me.. Even driving past it in the winter creeps me out. There are a lot of ghosts and other things in that hotel and motel that people who work there have seen. Well brother stay safe in that haunted place.

I remember climbing ,playing on that fort when i was 6 , going to Disneyland from Texas . Back then it was the trip. But also stopping for the night was a big deal. Dad would have to do stuff to the 1953 station wagon. Put water in the radirator bag to keep the engine cool it seemed to take alot of effort getting back on the road . 66 was very small highway cars were so slow . I temember looking at the next hill u would see it for 15 mins. Wow, seems like a dream. Always a fight to stop at attractions like the Thing , & jack rabbit. Dad would say. We dont have enough time , by the 4 th day. We were really draging knowing going back we would do it all over again Thanks. JS

OMG imagine how near it would be to restore to plainsman and operate a greasy spoon cafe along Route 66. That’s the dream. I’ve never managed let alone worked in a restaurant, I know it’s not easy but any business along Route 66 would be neat. I repair auto interior and cannot seem to stray from the mother route myself. Completely by chance, I’ve found myself working along the route in both my home state of CA and now Missouri. I love the aesthetic of it, the vibe everything

That room you stayed in must have been the proprietor's personal space that was converted to be more rooms at one point in time. Pretty neat! I love how the architecture inside is reminiscent of National Park Rustic/Parkitecture with the Inglenook type fireplace. Think Wilderness Lodge, which is inspired by that style. Great video as always! That hotel is kind of a cool mesh of 1930s Hollywood Western meets 1930s tourist architecture. Glad it's been saved!

I really enjoyed this, Justin. Your narrative was entertaining and you showed numerous locations. I actually had reservations here an couple years back but a family emergency kept me from going. (I will say the management was very understanding and charged nothing at all when I had to cancel) Something that I couldn't help but notice was how much you love your car! I saw more of it than I did of you! hahaha!! Be well and safe journeys, my friend!!

I grew up in this area and it’s a shame how it has run down. I remember it in its day and it was a great place to live with amazing people. A lot of my friends owned some of the business shown, the romos cafe and Joe and Aggies are both great. I dated a girl that’s parents owned the Butterfield and in high school re rented and partied in so many of those cheesy hotels … thanks for a blast from the past… it’s rare I get back there and it is interesting to see it from an outsiders view !

Hey I believe you saw a ghost. In my apartment I had woken up and other people were awake. I just happened to look towards kitchen doorway and saw someone walking into kitchen. My thought was “huh, how odd that my brother is awake this early” so I want into kitchen to ask what he was doing. There was no one in the kitchen.
