"I love the way AI programs play, with one exception: the early 3-3 invasion. I wish that when computers get stronger, they will stop playing it and prove me right". (Takemiya Masaki 9p, while commenting a game on TV)

@@KolybiGo The ai in go are like gods now. Unless the ai does it, cosmic will never exist.

Nice video! I was bit sad you didn't mention Kato Masao who was also Kitani student while Takemiya was there, but that is just because Kato is/was my favorite player :P Would love to see an episode about him, Nie Weiping or Shuko!

Hard to talk about everything in 15 mins, but will definitly keep Kato Masao in mind, I was thinking about a full episode about Kitani and his students, but hard to find informations :)

I admired Takemiya Sensei when I first started to learn Go some 30 years ago. I tried to imitate the style and enjoyed playing in that style since then. However, without strong skills in calculating steps in combats, I lose quite a lot. Extravagant style to imitate but very difficult to master. I no longer play go for more than a decade now, but stories like these bring me back to my childhood joys. Thank you Kolybi Go!

Beautiful video! I didn't delve too seriously into his strategy and I'm still quite weak, but I really enjoy the "artistic" way of thinking and as a player that favors influence over territory (a bit too much actually), I really am drawn by this romantic idea of "Cosmic" style.

There is never too much influence, there is just too little confidence ;)

Great video. What I find confusing is that they say territory is popular/increasingly orthodox, BUT when I read Attack & Defense, it seemed normal to attack to build up moyos…

Awesome video, thank you very much. Takemiya was the first Pro whose games i replayed and i think his humbleness and kindness is outstanding besides his very powerful skills and beautiful style.
