Major cities: Cordoba, Seville, Zaragoza, Valencia, Toledo and Granada.

This is a kind of video that shows some real dedication. It’s not one of those map videos made in MSpaint with red and blue that just glosses over everything besides territorial changes. I loved every second of this video and hope more videos like it will come.

Now THIS is a historical map video! Not just those bland types you see everywhere, with ticking year counts and no mention of important events, but with beautiful aesthetics, an actual timeline and a rundown of events WITH pictures to help with the understanding of the events. I'm honestly not sure if I prefer the civ6 city building videos or this, just simply because of how amazing they are!

It’s actually a very old Andalusian Arabic poem (specifically a muwashshah) lamenting one’s love and longing for the Prophet. It’s called Talama Ashku Gharami, the melody of which moved eastwards across the Mediterranean into the Levant and Anatolia, where other lyrics, both religious and secular, were successively put to it. A shared tradition, no doubt:)

This place was the intellectual hub of Europe. It gave us so many amazing scholars like Ibn Rusd ibn hazm and Abu al-Qasim al-Zahrawi. There would have been no renaissance without the help of Al Andalus especially Ibn Rusd The father of rationalism.

Wait the Muslims conquered Spain from 710 and fully from 780 and got completely kicked out in 1492, that is not 1000 years of rule.. and much of that time they just ruled half of the Iberian peninsula.

Andalusia is Vandalusia. it mean Land of Vandals, Vandal is originated from the crescent-shaped flag they used, and this crescent-shaped insignia also appeared in Andalusian flags and was also used in the flags of Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya. These countries have something in common that they are places where the Vandal passed in the past. Vandals is 月氏族 a group of the Mazars(Huns- 靺鞨) from ancient Korea. Koreans still call half moon a Vandal and The capital of Silla is Vandal Castle(半月城) so Silla is the part of one Vandals

the cresent moon comes from the ottoman empire s flag it never existed before them its not like the cross for muslims most likely since we fast a mounth on the moon calendar also the vandals came from norther germania their origin place is most likely southern scandinavia they fought the huns and were pushed into migrating into the roman empire by them so was most of the barbarian grouo that did the huns like the mongols in the middle east mixed with germans and slavs so did most invading groups
