"I could stare at notra dame for hours. and then I'd get an icecream. Then stare at it with an icecream." great quote.

Sadly this lecture is filled with inaccuracies. Firstly it omits the three stages of English Gothic: Early English (late C12 to late C13), Decorated (late C14 to late C15), and Perpendicular (late C14 to C17). The lecturer refers to several Early English cathedrals as Perpendicular. This is incorrect. The terms are not interchangeable. Lincoln and Salisbury are both examples of Early English (for the most part). Window tracery, a key identifier, is omitted. Perpendicular is the apex of this progression, akin to the French Flamboyant. The lecture uses an image of the facade of Wells cathedral and cites it as Ely. Ely itself is an excellent example of the transition from Romanesque through the three English Gothic styles, a real missed opportunity here.

I would agree with this assessment; however, Rayonnant or Flamboyant is the equivalent of the Decorated English Gothic style. Also, the vaulting in the chapter house of Salisbury Cathedral is tierceron and not fan vaulting as stated by the lecturer
