Blink from Age of Apocalypse actual became one of my favorite X-Men when she joined and the Exiles, I believe that was one of the greatest series and I wish Marvel would bring them back.

Oh, I remember this quite vividly: The world wept when 13/14-year-old Clarice Ferguson (then, my same age) died in the Phalanx Covenant, saving her newfound friends. She was an immediately compelling character. (I was mad.) Then, the world rejoiced when, lo, she was hurling through a portal-and *blinked*, closing the portal on that gloating acolyte of Apocalypse!

What would be cool for an ability evolution-- if she could teleport not her entire physical form, but a large potion of her mind to the teleportation location. She'd be like a ghost, untouchable and unnoticeable. Awesome mutant espionage.

After Phalanx she reappeared in XMen Alpha in the Age of Apocalypse series. She was also a part of the Runaway comic series as the traveled through different versions of Earths.

I'm surprised nothing was mentioned about her (a version of her?) being in the Exiles. Clarice is actually the only person other then Morph still in the team from the original line-up. While I don't know if the Blink in this comic is 616!Blink, it's definitely worth reading if you want to see more of her.

blink is one of four characters who came over from the age of apocalypse storyline way back in the nineties. AoA blink was a leader in that realities x men and was a very good fighter with full control of her powers, (may have had a thing for sabertooth as you may have seen in Exiles) when she came over to the 616 universe is when she was taken to become part of Exiles. she was a far improvement on the blink that this video was talking about. who was just a scared little girl, but I see they used her again. but AoA blink is still cooler, in my opinion.

There I was thinking this video would almost exclusively talk about AoA Blink, who had a lot of extra depth and characterisation. Also her powers were revised extensively and to great effect. I thought 616 Clarice was simply a throwaway character they used as a plot device in Phalanx Covenant, no idea they actually brought her back properly. I assume that was the Necrosha storyline that featured Selene?

Blink in this video is the mainstream Blink, however during the Age of Apocalypse, there is another Blink who has grown up in a dystopian alternate reality, similar to Rachel Grey. The alternative version of blink is the one with long hair, the green costume and the crystal javelins that she uses to open portals. She has full control of her abilities as opposed to the mainstream Blink. She had her own miniseries and was the team leader in the comic series Exiles. Hope this helps :)

Blink had a 4 issue miniseries sometime in the year 2000, it was a prequel to her appearances in AoA and if I recall right Scott Lobdell and Karl Moline were the creative team. Used to have the first issue but it unfortunately got wrecked on me. That series is collected I believe in AoA Dawn

Alternative reality, that is set in earth 295, the blink I am talking about here is in Earth 616, the main continuity.

Faust, Blink had a mini series, but it was with the Age Of Apocolypse version, and that was a lead in to Exiles. I also know that she is a favorite of some fanfic writers, myself included. I have her in two fanfic series based off Generation X. Feel free to drop me a line if you focus on any more Generation X linked characters.

I only cover the 616 universe when it comes to marvel, that was in earth 295. A good story, but not relevant to this video in the slightest.

You should read the Apocalypse versus Dracula mini series. it has the clan that you mentioned and a member of that clan with the same power as Blink.

Awesome video. Im starting to get into Blink and this video does help provide a some guiding points on her history. One thing I noticed you said she really hasnt justified her getting a solo title, but she already has had one written by Scott Lobdell and was 4 issues long. Not sure if you knew this already or not.

thanks for the video, I was away from comics for several years and I did not know that the original blink came back. that is exciting, id like a list of the story lines you talked about if you can. personally I love the age of apocalypse blink who came over to the regular reality after the storyline was finished and then was chosen to be in Exiles. she made an amazing leader. a few questions as you are most likely more knowledgeable then I am at the moment. have the two blinks ever met each other, which one do you think is more powerful, or are they the same? and is there talk of her getting her own series, that would be outstanding. thanks for your time :)

nightcrawler opens a portal to another dimension (demon dimension) and goes through that dimension very fast and appears in a new location back in his dimension. and if he ever goes through that dimension slower then the demons have a chance to catch him and eat him.

it has also been said in a game that Nightcrawler needs to see the place where he wants to teleport or else the teleportation might go wrong, while Blink can teleport as far as the moon without necessarily looking at the place. But it was only in X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse, so i don't know if it is correct for the comics.

+ItsSuperEffective I would like for you to make a video about Polaris (Lorna Dane) since I find her a very interesting character and at least for me, it seems like she's a little underrated in the comics since she doesn't appear often in the comics if you compare her with the rest of the X-Men, she's gained a little more popularity due to the FOX/Marvel TV series: The Gifted since she's like the core character of the show but in the comics universe, it would be amazing to explore her story and you really seem to know a lot about comics, especially the ones from Marvel. I really like your channel and your videos, keep up the good work

Well I just got through reading an X-men age of apocalypse comic book. The series featured magneto working with the X-men, and blink was actually alone in the story. In the short amount of time with blink you can really get to know blinks character personally and the uniqueness of her miniadventures away from the x-men and brotherhood. I think this version of blink while very sexy and witty can gain the readers attention, making the reader always wanting to see what blink would do next.

You are forgetting Blink from the Exile series, this Blink is from the Age of Apocalypse Universe where she had full control of her powers and was trained to fight by her universe's Sabertooth who becomes a father figure to her. Plus she was the Leader of the Exiles! So in a while 616 Blink hasn't done a lot but 295 Blink has!

But the Exiles were an multi-universal team not only was each member from a different universe but they went universe to universe. They even had mainstream people like Psylocke and Sage on the team.

ItsSuperEffective well technically she did go from 616 into the exiles. but blink was only in 616 for a short time, four characters made it out of AoA before it collapsed. blink being one of them. and before that she came from Age of Apocalypse. (universe 295)

Not sure if you have done a video on Magick or any of the original "new mutants" but would love to see you touch base on some of them. Karma, Magma are just afew others that would be fun to hear about more. The whole of the team. There are some fun facts about them as well, like Magneto was the leader. Emma had her own school the hellions, who they fought. As well as the death of a team member while they were on a mission. The death of Cypher was such a big deal at the time. He was the first in marvel, I think, to die in such away and stay dead for so long it had long lasting effects to the team as a whole.

Im sorry to say but, Yes, Emma Frost had a Estate/School, its where her original team the Hellions Trained/Studied. As well its the location where when she became a Teacher for Gen X she opened the doors for them to join her there. The School was somewhat part of but not on the grounds of the Xavier's School. Emma even goes to as far as to say to Banshee, "I have not had Students on the grounds in a very long time." If you want to know more about Emma's First students, the ones that {Soiler} all get killed and its her fault. Read some of the New Mutants. If you want to know more about her own issues and leading a new team of Kids. Generation X is a good place to start.

her teleportation javelins are a manifestation of her teleportation powers, kind of like boom boom, who can make bombs of energy that explode. blink can make teleportation javelins that when thrown can teleport what it touches away, or can cause them to go out of phase with reality and knock them out. she doesn't need them to teleport tho, also I am not sure if other people can touch them without being teleported away. :)

I just do Earth 616, there are actually a lot of factors in that decision, but for not to give you peace of mind, I will tell you that I AM working on something to do with AoA.
