Loved this video, man. Geese is my all-time favorite SNK character. His fighting style fits me perfectly and his personality stands out so much. Loved seeing him in CvS when he faced Bison and destroyed his cape. I've found my forever main for Tekken!

Geese is alive in KOF because it's a separate timeline from AOF/Fatal Fury\MOTW.

I'm sure plenty have already said it, but Rock Howard is canon to Fatal Fury and KoF. Think of them as separate timelines. In Fatal Fury's Geese is perma-dead after FF3 which leads to Rock's debute in Garou Mark of the Wolves. KoF on the other hand alters things around for its own story, so some elements are changed such as the story behind Geese and Rock.

I want to see Kenshiro in T7, the Hokuto Shin Ken Grandmaster from Fist of the North Star.

I think with Akuma, and now Geese, Namco Bandai are heading a huge step in the right direction for a great cross over....let's hope.

As far I as I know, SNK has had multiple continuities with their characters/fighters. However King of Fighters runs on three canons: Character home-series, KOF mainline, and KOF spin-off canons. For characters that debuted outside the KOF series, SNK incorporates several elements from their home series and discards what doesn't work. For example in the home series Fatal Fury, Geese would be considered dead after the 3rd game. In the KOF mainline series, Geese is alive seeking world domination. In the KOF spin-offs (Maximum Impact mainly), Geese would be dead again. The spin-offs are non-canon to the KOF mainline series, but may integrate continuities from the character home series. For Rock Howard, he is actually now canon to the King of Fighters mainline series thanks to XIV. His canon was tweaked be the equivalent to being a young teenager due to previously being a young boy earlier in the KOF series. Rock's original debut though was in Garou: Mark of the Wolves (the final Fatal Fury game). He goes in search to learn about his family and Geese's will. After learning Kain was Rock's uncle, Rock goes to train under him promising to return to Terry later. Since Fatal Fury ended up discontinued, continuities from Garou's planned sequel were incorporated into KOF: Maximum Impact 2 were we see where Rock ended up following his decision in Garou. When KOF XIV rolled around, several continuities from Garou/Maximum Impact 2 were discarded, but others were kept (like Rock's upbringing by Terry) and Rock's mission ended up being seeking revenge against Geese.

Rock is geese’s son, he grew up taking care of his sick mother and watched her die similar to geese story and wanted answers on why he was never around. With all the hate he had inside of him Terry took rock under his wing then trained him which is why he has a mixture of geese and terry abilities.

I do wish he had a story mode in Tekken. I'd have liked to have seen him interact with the other characters. Even if he only got to do his own thing rather than fit in the game's canon like Akuma.

I hope Geese's appearance in Tekken gets more people interested in the character and the series he hails from. The SNK fighters really do have a surprising amount of interesting lore for fighting games.

Well, due to the quotes from Rock in KOF XIV, _this_ version of Rock just seems to have been abandoned by Geese for some reason. Ironically, Geese seems to have done exactly what his father did before, as Marie (If she is Rock's mother in this timeline) is mentioned to have "suffered ten thousand times worse" than whatever you dish out as a win quote against Geese. He also seems to have been publicly raised (or at least trained) by Terry, as Yamazaki seems to know about him, and is on a first name basis with Terry and Andy, and know their technique when criticizing Joe. Apparently, Rock being trained by Terry is a constant throughout all timelines.

Nice video. One this I need to mention, from what I heard, there are 2 timelines in the canon of Fatal Fury and King of Fighters. One where it is Art of Fighting, the majority of the Fatal Fury series, and Garou: Mark of the Wolves and the other has Fatal Fury 1 and 2 then the Majority of the KoF series.

I need to bring this up, kof and fatal fury are separate continuities or or a separate universe. When he appeared in kof it was due to the makers not knowing geese was dead. So they made kof a retcon/alternate timeline where geese survived and in his own words became "immortal". So in fatal fury he's dead. Kof he lives

Just to clear things up for you Historybehindthewarrior, the Art of Fighting, Fatal Fury, and Garou: Mark of the Wolves games exist in their own universe, which is separate from the universe of the King of Fighters video games. So in the AOF/FF/MOTW universe Geese is actually dead from his second fall from Geese Tower, while in the KOF universe, he is still alive. EDIT: By the way I also forgot to mention, I'm a big fan of your videos.

History Behind The Warrior The hooded character silhouette in injustice 2 might be spectre. He has a cloak and he is cannon to the comics. Also he would be the least expected character to be dlc.

The KOF'94 tidbit is false he never competed in that tournament... he was just aware of it. SNK used to scrap stories/continuities like crazy thus we got loopholes especially when it comes to FF/KOF. never seemed to settle until they went bankrupt. Fact of the matter they scrapped FF1-3 in favor of Wild ambition, however, Real Bout remained untouched. They even tried to fuck it up with FFRBDM which had a twist between billy and white, but it's just extra flavor. Fact is, a lot of people thought Geese was dead in also KOF after KOF'2003 as far as FF/KOF continuity goes, but SNK just flipped them off with his inclusion in KOF14. They simply can do that even with FF. Not hard to do. Funny thing is they never denied his story in super spy game which was a side show. They kept it intact. I found that very bothersome as he was misused in that game.

Geese wasn't in KoF '94, unless there's some background info to this I'm not aware of. I've heard he was supposed to be in '95 but for whatever reason wasn't included until '96. And for whatever god awful reason, he was not included in the original Dream Match in '98.

If we're talking "Canon" Geese died in Real Bout Fatal Fury 1. In Fatal Fury 3 he escapes. He has made multiple appearances in KoF but KoF has never been Canon. You can't have AoF characters be the same age as Fatal Fury characters because they're not. They characters existed in separate timelines. Robert, Ryo and Yuri are in their 20's and around the same age as "young Geese" who is a guest boss in the AoF games. They would be around 40-50 years old if they co-existed with Fatal Fury characters. I know fans and SNK themselves have tried to tie everything together and tried coming up with stories to link them together as the same continuity but it just doesn't work. Long story short. Rock "IS" canon. Geese is dead (or believed to be dead) and KoF is a dream match.Fun fact. When Geese makes his return in Fatal Fury 3 he has a massive "X" shaped scar on his back. Tekken 7 decided to keep this version of Geese.
