0.24 : McMillan library was completed in 1931, nowhere present in 1917. 1.13 : is Barclays Bank at Donald Ave, Nakuru,. The building still exists on what is now Kenyatta Ave. Nakuru. It's not Queensway Nairobi. 1.22: The East African Standard office on Govt Rd (then Station Rd) is circa 1905. 2.55: The unknown street is River Road viewed from the Khoja Mosque. The tower on the right further away is the Fire Station on Victoria St. 3.15: It is Railway Station HQ, Nairobi and NOT the Law Courts. 3.17: is Donal Ave, Nakuru and not Govt Rd, Nairobi. 3.20: is construction of Torr's Hotel viewed from Stanley Hotel 5.00: The corner building is MacMillan Building not East African Airways 6.41: The corner Kanji Naranjee building later became Lakhani Building on Govt Rd, which still exists. The turning is the Husein Suleman St. into Hardinge St. 6.51: is Govt Rd and NOT 6th Ave. 6.53: is NOT Sadler St but Donal Ave, Nakuru. 7.24 : That is Sadler St. the Start/Finish venue of the 1956 Coronation Safari 7.29 : The 1959 date is doubtful since Tott's Hotel was sold to Ottoman Bank in 1956. 7.45: That is Sultan Hamud 7.53: Aerial view is circa 1958. The present phase of New Stanley Hotel is being completed. 8.08 opposite National Grindlays Bank Shazana, I hope you can incorporate the above errors to improve the authenticity of the facts. Most of these errors have been carried over from our earlier (lack of) knowledge of the photos but with more information available now, our beautiful vintage Nairobi history is in a better shape. Movie Mistake at 3:13 The large building is NOT the Law Courts; it's Railway HQ! You can see the station to the left. My dad worked here in the 60's' I visited many times. A santa sana!
