Nhl video games from 1991 to 2012 in hd. All nhl video games made by ea are in this video, except a few that weren't the part of the series, like nhl slapshot, rock the rink, and mutant league hockey.

Firewall 29 The NHL 99 version shown in the video was on N64 While NHL 2000 in the video was on PlayStation 1

I miss the Hell out of NHL 2004. That was the best Hockey game of all time! The 2k NHL games were excellent as well and should have been included.

My first was either 94 or 95. had a lot of fun. just got 13 for 10 bucks but haven't played it yet. Loved the 94-95 ones

Great video, however your NHL 97 footage is actually footage from NHL Powerplay 97. Not the NHL series. That may be the nerdiest thing I've ever typed.

NHL 99 had the best, smoothest gameplay if you'd ask me what my favorite variation growing up was. On the "Easy" mode, it WAS very easy... (Playing with the Detroit Red Wings of-course, & kicked ass with them.)

Notice how the puck physics were better back in the Sega Genesis/ Super Nintendo days. After that point it seemed like the players would always be able to handle any pass which made it so unrealistic.

93, 99 and 2012 touched my heart best. I still sometimes play 93 today by DOSbox. Its still very good playable.

Cool video. I stepped away from EA's hockey games and went to the 2K series for a while, then had to go back. I have to say, I preferred 2K over EA, when they were around.

'94 & '95 had a nice arcade touch to it thanks to how players moved around ice. they were clearly console like games. For Pc from '96 on it started a different era it still seems to me. I don't remember '97 and played 2K series by Kush games 2004-2006 they were the best Xbox could offer I believe.

For PS2 07 there's a move that always works if you do properly + don't get tangled up. Boost your player down boards on his forehand. Then cut in front of net while doing quick up down dekes and shoot at past middle of net but if he's on the back hand then keep boosting behind the net and shoot just past mid net I got 1 guy 12 goals in a game on easy with the former

NHL 2004 was the first game I bought; It was awesome. I wish I never gave it away, especially since they don't even sell old Gamecube games anymore. NHL 10-14 were great, especially 11 and 14. 15 is good; the graphics are great, the gameplay is pretty good, although the goalies and defensive AI are terrible. I didn't expect many game modes and detailed commentary with it being the first game on new consoles. NHL 16 looks like will be better.

@Appleguy256 - in 15 years, we'll probably see sports games that will be indistinguishable from an actual broadcast (complete with sponsored commercial breaks). If we look at the CGI in films we have today, and with the size of the gaming industry, we'll have the computing power to actually bring reality to our games.

Good vid but you mixed up PC and home ports. Showing NHL 2001 on home console over the PC version??? Not the best idea. NHL 2001 on PC was a break through year for the NHL series in terms of graphics and gameplay. I think you had cover art from the wrong games showing at times. Maybe you should change the title to "History of EA NHL video games".

Mistake in there: Instead of NHL 97, you seem to have NHL Face-Off 97 instead.

Good heavens, yes. A new cup celebration. It's like they refuse to. Every time you win a series it shows the goalie jumping and then the players leave the bench, in the exact same way every time!
