When you mention Thanos in a good reading comic book do not forget the Thanos Imperative, it was the one time Thanos worked with the Guardians of the galaxy and star lord dies, best read ever.

For your recommended readings, you forgot to mention the post-Realm of Kings storyline, The Thanos Imperative. One of the best Cosmic Marvel stories that involves almost every modern Cosmic Marvel character that matters.

ADAM WARLOCK! One of the few rare, uncommon fan. Did you know the actor of Agent Coulson is a fan of Warlock? But yeah, Adam's an essential element of Thanos' history.

Paul Carrola I bought and read the Warlock mags as they came out in the '70's and the "Starlin" Captain Marvel issues that this guy refers to. For the uninitiated: Warlock had possessed one of the gems (the "soul" gem), that later became part of the gauntlet (I forget now). It was an awesome publication, also drawn by Jim Starlin, who I always thought was Marvel's best, better than Jack Kirby! Great stories, great art!

I love Thanos. He's a villain who thinks BIG and has the power to back it up. He's on a scale so epic that he's sided with heroes on more than one occasion. He considers the universe to be his and he protects what it is.

I like Thanos as a character, but his motives are.....questionable. Not because of how evil they are, but because if he destroyed everything and killed off all life he'd actually be doing Death a disservice. No life means no more death, an omnipotent being should know that it's better to play the long game. A healthy universe produces more death than a barren and empty one.

So at first Thanos was going to be a rip off of Metron, then Marvel says no,no look give him metron's chair and while you are at it make him look like Darkseid, and while your at it make him a universal threat like Darkseid as well, also be sure to call him a titan so nobody notices, I mean its not like we can come up with something original right.

Imperial791 not really. DC admited that they sometimes steal ideas from Marvel, and so does Marvel does since they admited it too
